Sora Kimura (Backstory Change) Empty Sora Kimura (Backstory Change)

The whole "something fell from the ceiling at just the right time with Sora in just the right position and it hit just right to make an irreparable fracture and I didn't even know what it was so I didn't specify ("through blinds of pain and shocked surprise")" thing has been bothering me as of late, so I decided that such would probably keep bothering me until I changed it. Changes are in blue text, primarily seen in the edited portion of the backstory, but there are some other minor revisions.

NAME: Sora Kimura
AGE: 15
CLASS: Freshman

APPEARANCE: He is 5 ft. 5.5 in., a bit thin, has straight brown hair, and has green eyes that are often only half-open. He has white sneakers and will wear appropriate legwear for the weather, (pants in cold weather and shorts in warm weather) but will usually wear a long-sleeved shirt to make his missing right forearm less obvious. His left hand is usually in a pocket.

BACKSTORY: As a young child, Sora grew closer to his mom than his dad due to his dad's inconvenient work hours. He worked until late in the day, and saw his son for a couple hours a day before going to bed. This remained consistent through Sora's middle school years, where it was also found that he wasn't incredibly social. It was mostly due to him being the kind of person to let others come to him rather than going to them. Others had little reason to come to him, so he made few friends, and the few that he did make didn't end up very close. It's hard to say whether he didn't get close due to enjoying solitary activity, or if he came to enjoy solitary activity due to not getting close, or if both effects fed into each other. In any case, he enjoyed an occasional relaxed walk, video games, and often drawing in his free time. Drawing was something he did fairly often, but not something he took all that seriously. He usually thought of it as just something to fill the time, and so didn't join an art club or anything. His lack of many friends could also be attributed to him not taking enough interest in much of anything to join an extracurricular activity.
(I can't find a place to make this part fit in, so he lived in a small town in the Yamagate prefecture of the Tohoku region of Japan. Thank you, Wikipedia, for knowing how Japan works <_>)
Sora was making one of the earlier-mentioned aimless and somewhat bored strolls on a cloudy afternoon. As it often was, his mind was in other places, and so he was not paying much attention to his surroundings as he crossed one of the busier streets of the town. Nor was the driver of a small, blue car, as he was preoccupied typing something on his phone, and was not yet used to a keyboard layout, thus forced to look at his phone to find the right buttons. Consequentially, Sora was hit hard on his right side. The driver got out of the car quickly. After asking if Sora was OK, and promptly noticing by his severly injured arm that he was not, said driver called an ambulance. Sora was quickly brought to the hospital, where he was eventually told that the area around and above his wrist had been damaged beyond repair. As it couldn't be left as it was, there seemed to be but one solution.

He still spent a good while in the hospital after the amputation, of course. He was near-always alone, which he thought was OK, at first. He was used to solitude, after all. However, the lack of friends to talk to, and that his parents couldn't be there all the time meant that he was even more alone than he was used to, and so didn't get much social interaction. The only other people there were the doctors, and something seemed bothersome about them. They tried to seem friendly, but Sora knew and couldn't help but keep in mind that it is only their job to be friendly. They have no intention of developing personal relationship, friendship, and so Sora did not value conversation with them. He'd often be letting his mind wander to other subjects entirely unrelated to what he was talking about. His face often did not reflect much, as he was more focused on his own thoughts than proper expression.
He eventually accepted that he couldn't lay down and do nothing with his time. There were no video games, and the hospital wasn't an incredibly interesting place to walk around in, so he decided to try his (remaining) hand at drawing again. Problem was, he's right-handed. He had never used his left hand in drawing or writing except to see out of curiosity how deformed his writing would be upon trying to write with it. His attempted tree proved just as deformed, and after two more attempted drawings he quickly found that witnessing his own artistic inability was frustrating him horribly. He decided not to draw, to keep from frustrating himself any further. He knew, though rarely acknowledged that, he would eventually have to write again, and that he probably could not get himself to quit drawing entirely. For the time, however, he had little to do but think about his situation, how he felt about it, etc. He's grown used to just thinking, to an extent at which he is sometimes content if he just has something to think about. Besides writing and drawing he spent a while during which he would try using his right arm for something now and then before remembering that he couldn't. He has, for the most part, broken the habit, though it still may come up every once in a long while. He has learned that it's best not to dwell on the mistake, and so will usually move quickly onward. He takes this approach with the missing arm itself: it's best not to think about it much.
He's taken the news that he will be attending Yamaku calmly. As mentioned earlier, he never made any close friends, so not seeing the friends he did have isn't all that tragic to him. Sora just looks at the idea of going to a school with disabled classmates as interesting, to a mildly exciting extent, rather than insulting or bothersome.

PERSONALITY: He usually keeps a blank face, primarily out of habit, though he may do so deliberately, if for some reason needed. However, one can still vaguely figure things out. There are, of course, involuntary reactions like crying or blushing. More commonly, however, one can tell something by looking at his eyes, should one learn of the habit. They are often half-closed, which shows that he is not paying much attention to what's around him and his mind is in other places or is nowhere in particular. If for some reason he drops everything else to stop and think about something, his eyes are closed. If something takes his interest enough that he is actually paying attention to what he's doing, his eyes are fully open. Due to usually not paying much attention to the conversation, he will sometimes miss subtler conveyance or things that might be implied through tone of voice. He refuses to call this a flaw, and instead thinks it little more than a unique trait that he personally does not take much interest in talking. He takes a mild interest in art, but is reluctant to draw, himself.

Put in few words, he usually isn't paying full attention, and is instead somewhat distant, and currently takes a mild interest in drawing.

Just a few things that we missed out first time round - height, place of birth, and how he copes with the missing hand outside of drawing.

-I'm not actually very familiar with height measurements, but I don't think 5'5.5" is abnormal other than being a series of fives
-Was probably more specific than I had to be with place of birth, but that's not a problem
-Wasn't actually all that sure about what to do with the "coping with (lack of) arm" thing, hopefully I did it right

I have noted that there is some usage of narrative format in the update which I find to be out of place. It's the first paragraph in blue. If you could rewrite this neutrally, I could approve this again.

I'm not really sure what's wrong with the blue paragraph. The dialogue was out of place, so I removed that, along with some other details that didn't seem like they needed to be there.
Is it fine now, or...?

That was it, forgive me for being vague, I thought it was more inherent. It's acceptable now.
