Re: [Open] Disconnected
"Kimura, Sora." I introduce myself.
"He helped me out when I first got here too. And again a while afterward. I guess he's a very helpful person."

Re: [Open] Disconnected
{Because Japanese school year ends in March and new year starts in April. Even if we are lagging a bit.}

Re: [Open] Disconnected
(i'm a bit confused right now
shouldn't I consider Sora a freshman until we do the graduation-end-of-school-year-day-thing event?
which we haven't done yet)

{Well, technically, it should've been done with a month ago, but that's not going to happen
But as there are new freshmen arriving I'd say it's fair to consider everyone else promoted.
Except people that flunked finals and those that haven't been seen in months.
Attendance that poor does tend to cause problems.}

(I guess we'll disregard those past couple posts, then?)
"Yeah." I confirm. "Not sure how much I did with my first year." I comment shortly afterward, more to myself than to him.

"Eh. Still got a couple years, no reason to worry. How much you do senior year is all anyone cares about anyway, and they'll even forget that a year or two afterwards."

"Who do you mean by 'they'?" I ask.

Re: [Open] Disconnected
Am I seriously discussing career planning with some antisocial guy I met 5 minutes ago?
Maybe I am losing it.
"Anyone. Universities, employers, whatever. Once you get in, they don't keep going back over your high school records."

Re: [Open] Disconnected
"I guess so. I wasn't really talking about grades and stuff universities want to see and stuff."
Then what was I talking about?
The question gives me pause.
"I made one friend and got somewhat better at using my left hand and that's about all I can say I've done."
I look down at the notebook in the mentioned left hand.
"I guess I was about to do more, though."

It didn't take long for Jun to get what she needed from the office. She was surprised slightly when the staff member knew sign language, and that she was kind of rusty. Wow it's been a while hasn't it.
Only a few minutes after she entered the Office building, she exited to see the boy who showed her here was still around, and with another. She began walking towards them, more because it was on her way back to her dorm than anything else.

Re: [Open] Disconnected
Toshi noticed the girl coming back down from the administration building, a very slight brunette.
Seems I'm even more out of the ordinary here, he mused, considering his own height and muscularity. Of those he had met thus far, it seemed nearly everyone was easily ten, fifteen centimeters shorter than him, at least. Only Hawke was taller, and he had three years on Toshi, years in which Toshi would surely catch up to him.
As for exercise, he imagined some people's conditions could make it difficult. There didn't exactly seem to be many athletes around.
"Well, don't let me hold you up," he replied, returning his full attention to his awkward conversation with Sora.

Re: [Open] Disconnected
I find it hard to tell whether the girl is walking to us or by us, so I'm also unsure of whether or not I should bother greeting her again. Actually, did I greet her a first time? I try to remember for a bit before hearing Toshiaki say something.
"What?"
I'm not actually sure what he means by that. Does he want me to elaborate, to go do that which I had said I was about to, or...?"Don't let me hold you up."
"What?"

Re: [Open] Disconnected
That guy looks kinda like one of the assholes from my last school. It's not the same person obviously.. but what if he's the same kind of person. The school would never allow that, right?. Why risk it, just keep moving.
Jun lets her gaze linger on the stranger for a moment but as she gets closer she looks down and ahead. She walks by the two boys, purposefully not acknowledging either of them.

I watch the girl shortly as she walks, not to us, but by us. I guess that's one question answered, even if the answer is a bit disappointing. She seemed like an interesting person to talk to, though I'm wondering now if it was just because of the method of 'talking.'

Re: [Open] Disconnected
Toshi observed as the girl walked by without a word, noting her glances toward him. A look of… concern? Intimidation? Dismissal? He wasn't quite sure, as the evening light gleaming from her glasses obscured her eyes and made it difficult to judge her expression.
"Well, if you were on your way to do something, I don't want to keep you from it," he answered Sora.

Re: [Open] Disconnected
And there's the next answer.
"Ok."
And I start walking away.
It's a rather abrupt leave, but I don't notice as much.
(Sometimes I feel weird about stuff like that last line. If I'm writing in first person, maybe I'm not supposed to know things my character doesn't?)

Re: [Open] Disconnected
Jun takes a swig from her drink and continues on her way. Not slowing down, not looking back, just making her way across the courtyard. It was not long before there was a decent distance between her and the conversing boys.

Re: [Open] Disconnected
Just like that, huh? Sora's not exactly a conversationalist, I guess.
Shrugging, Toshi started the walk back to his dorm. Guess I'll see what everyone's up to there. Failing that, get in some guitar practice.
His destination had him following that girl, his long stride causing him to gain on her rather quickly.
Considering the odd look she had given him, he held back a bit, slowing to her pace, keeping about five meters from her.
He pulled another can of soda from his bag and cracked it open, taking a small drink.

Once she heard the can being opened, she looked behind herself towards him briefly.
Why is he following me?
After which, she began unconciously walking faster.

Re: [Open] Disconnected
Toshi noticed her glance and increased pace, confirming his first guess.
Gah. This is ridiculous.
Although he was quite tall, his thin frame wasn't exactly imposing. Maybe slightly more so in shorts and a tee like he was wearing, displaying his well-toned muscles. Even if you considered that to fit the look of a stereotypical jock, he was far too calm and quiet to be confused for one.
Then again, maybe she was just the kind of girl that was afraid of her own shadow.
Not being able to think of anything to say, he simply sighed and continued walking at his slower pace, taking the occasional drink.

Re: [Open] Disconnected
It only took Jun a few moments to realize she had adopted such a brisk pace, and return to her normal one.
Why am I so afraid of this guy? I don't even know him. Maybe because I don't know him, I have no idea what he's like. Come on, your supposed to fit in here, quit acting like an outsider. Although, I did just get here, so I still am a bit of an outsider. Maybe that's okay, just being an outsider here. It's just highschool after- wait, this isn't the girl's dorm.
Through a combination of being fairly new here, the general disorientation of a different lighting, and her own internal deliberation, Jun managed to take a wrong turn and went into the boys dorm.
Well this is embarassing.
She soon took a deep breath and turned around to go back where she should have.

Re: [Open] Disconnected
Toshi walked down the path, looking into the evening sky, not longer watching the girl, who was easily ten meters ahead of him by this point. As he rounded the last turn in the path, he heard a door open and close in her direction. He assumed it was that of the female dormitory.
He continued on, reaching the door of the male dormitory several seconds later, only to have it fly open into him, splattering his white shirt with his own orange soda.
"Who the he–" he started, before seeing the timid figure behind the door.

Re: [Open] Disconnected
Oh shit! I'm so sorry!
Jun's eyes open wide in surprise as they meet the scene before her. In a slight panic her eyes dart about as she takes a step back. After a short moment of thought, she comes up with the only way evident to her to consolidate her mistake. She looks at her own soda and then towards the orange boy with the inside corner of her eybrows tipped up as she holds her soda in front of herself towards him, offering it as compensation.
