[OPEN] Fitting in
Takumi sauntered out of the classroom sighing deeply. He was getting sick of not talking, not meeting anyone he can speak to comfortably. He doesn't belong here...sure his medication fails from time to time, but that doesn't mean he needs this special care.
I swear I'm taking advantage of this place, He thought to himself. I don't have anything wrong with me. Nothing I can't survive with on my own.
He hoists his messenger bag on his shoulder a little higher, walking down the hall towards the cafeteria where he was surely to eat alone again. He reaches into the back of the bag at his side pulling out the bone-conducting headphones and setting them on his cheekbones. He bought them online in hopes to still be able to hear those around him if they wanted to talk to him without interrupting his music. He looks down at his phone scrolling to the new band he found online and clicking shuffle on the playlist.

Re: [OPEN] Fitting in
(OOC: I'm assuming this thread takes place sometime in early september, near the end of the summer break.)
Chiharu was making her way through the hall away from the cafeteria, as she had been let out of class early to be able to get her lunch without having to deal with the crowd. But she was a bit slow today and the other students were already half way to her. She could tell she would have to go through it. So as she heard them from around the corner, she took a deep breath before turning the corner and wading through the stream of people. It was not only difficult because of her personal circumstances, but also because she was going against the current. Most of the other students moved out of the way and went around her, but before too long a boy looking down at his phone rather than paying attention to where he is going comes along. Being surrounded by people, Chiharu realized she had to get his attention or risk running into him, or more accurately, him running into her.
"Hey, watch out!"

Re: [OPEN] Fitting in
As he scrolled through the songs catching the beginning of each one before going to the next one, the sounds of Chiharu's warnings was drowned out among the loud music. He kept walking straight forward not even noticing the imminent collision in front of him. He sighs, thinking about what he was hungry for and trying to make sense of that last lecture he just sat through.

<Oh, shit! He's deaf!>
With less than a second to react and seemingly nowhere to go, Chiharu turns to the side slightly and prepares for impact.
Upon their crash, she fails to remain standing, or hold on to her tray of food. However she did manage to avoid getting any of it on herself.

Re: [OPEN] Fitting in
He yelps loudly, falling onto his rear. He blinks wildly, rubbing his head to try and clear his vision.
What the hell...? Ouch.
He groans, looking in front of him finally noticing who caused him to fall over.
"Hey...ow...are you okay? I'm sorry. I didn't see you there."
HE rubs the back of his head, obviously embarrassed.

Re: [OPEN] Fitting in
In quite a hurry to get out of the hallway, Chiharu quickly picks herself up off the floor.
"I'm sorry, I can't stay here."
Before too long she disappears into the crowd and around a corner, leaving her lunch and Takumi spread across the floor.

Re: [OPEN] Fitting in
Jimmy saw the collision happen from further down the corridor. He approached the boy sprawled out on the floor, leaving his oxygen tank behind.
He extended an arm to help the boy up.
"Are you ok?" He asked. His voice was trying very hard to disguise an accent as he spoke.
"I'm Jimmy, by the way." He added quickly.

Re: [OPEN] Fitting in
He frowns, seeing the girl vanish down the hallway. He looks at Jimmy, taking his hand.
"Hi..uh..yeah. I'm Takumi. That hurt...who was that?" He looks at the boy, "Thanks."
Ugh...that hurt....pulse....? Good. Heart-rate seems okay...who was she...? He mumbles inside his own head.

Re: [OPEN] Fitting in
[OOC: I'm assuming this would be during the school period. I think this forum's timeline is currently in summer holidays, so the question about Chiharu tough to answer. Jimmy hasn't met her so far but any potential RP's where he might meet her would technically be happening before this, so I'll just stick with the assumption that Jimmy doesn't know her for now.]
"No worries. I don't think I've ever met that girl, probably because I'm kinda new here. You don't need to see the nurse or anything, do you?" Jimmy asked.

Re: [OPEN] Fitting in
He grunts, taking his index finger and putting it to his neck to check his pulse.
"No..I think I'm okay...That hurt." He winces slightly.
He thrusts forward his free hand, "Takumi. I'm new...ish."

Re: [OPEN] Fitting in
Jimmy gave Takumi a firm handshake.
"Yeah, I'm new-ish too. I bet that hurt, looked like a big collision. I think you owe that girl a lunch when you next see her..." He joked, giving a small smile.

Re: [OPEN] Fitting in
He nods,
"Thanks...and yeah. I totally would, but I have no idea who she was."
That blue hair...she left her food...I feel horrible. I need to find out who she is.
He looks up, "Sorry, I uh. I was just about to go get some food. You busy?"

Re: [OPEN] Fitting in
"Yeah, I'm just screwing with you. I'm sure you'll find her and make it up to her later. Try not to feel too bad. No, I'm not busy, I'll just go get my oxygen tank and I'll be with you." Jimmy smiled before walking briskly over to his oxygen tank that he'd left down a short distance down the hall. He took a quick breath from it, getting a few curious looks from other students. Gripping the small trolley, he wheeled it back over to Takumi, trying not to keep him waiting too long.
Re: [OPEN] Fitting in
He nods, watching him grab the tank.
I wonder what his condition is...it'd probably be too insensitive to ask.
"Do you know what's on the menu today? I'm starving." He sighs, walking down the hall with Jimmy.
"How long have you been a student here?"

Re: [OPEN] Fitting in
"No idea what's on the menu. I've been here since just before the end of the summer holidays. What about you?" Jimmy asked as he and Takumi entered the cafeteria.
He saw a long line of students waiting for the food energetically chatting, or manically signing to each other. The energy in this place was infectious and way more compelling than his previous school in Tokyo. Jimmy was settling into the feel of the place pretty well now.

Re: [OPEN] Fitting in
He grimaces at the crowd. "I've been here for...what, three months now?" He sighs.
"I'm not sure I'm hungry anymore." He stares at the large gathering of students, realizing that he was late to lunch. He bites his lip nervously.
He's always hated crowds, noisy noisy sheep, all standing in queue, one wrong move and all of their attention would be on the kid no one really knew. He hated this feeling. Not fitting in.

Re: [OPEN] Fitting in
"You said you were starving just a minute ago!"
Jimmy paused, noticing some anxiety in Takumi.
"Is something bothering you?"

Re: [OPEN] Fitting in
He blinks slightly, not realizing he was staring .
"Oh...uh, I just, It's my medication, hunger comes and goes...I have to go do some stuff."
He smiles slightly, a fake grin while he has an internal panic attack.
Please buy it please buy it please buy it...
He frowns, "I'm sorry."
Takumi quickly turns on his heels and sprints out the double doors to the cafeteria, headed straight for the music room...he needed an escape.

Re: [OPEN] Fitting in
Jimmy wasn't exactly a genius when it came to reading people, but he didn't buy Takumi's lies for a minute. He watched as the boy bolted for the cafeteria's exit. He couldn't exactly run after him.
"Oh, for fu-" Jimmy began to exclaim in English, cutting himself off as he realised all eyes were on him and the place where Takumi had just been standing. He just sighed and stared at his feet as he shuffled into the queue.
God damn it... Well, I guess I'm eating alone today.

Re: [OPEN] Fitting in
He sprints as fast as he can to the music room, his hands coming to rest on the closed door.
He squints in pain, feeling very light-headed
Oh...great...that was...smart. Close your eyes...focus. Just breathe. Make the world stop spinning.
He finally opens the door, walking over to one of the many sound rooms. His key finding it's home in his own door guarding his drumset. He closes the door behind him, sighing.
I really need to stop doing that. I don't ever talk to anyone here, how do I expect to make any friends?
He shakes his head, sighing as he put on the headphones and scrolling to a familiar song. He begins playing along with it as he tries to relax a little. His pent up stress was getting the best of him. He doesn't play as much these days, and it's really starting to get to him.
