[Private] Megumi Turns to Her Friend

After finally arriving to her room, Megumi breaks down into tears and sinks down to her bottom behind her closed door. Why am I such a freak? Why me? I don't deserve to go out in public. I just make everything so weird and stupid! I'm destined to be alone for forever... She cradled her knees to her chest as tears streamed down her cheeks for a few minutes before she remembered that she wasn't alone... In fact someone she cared for dearly could be there in a matter of minutes!

Megumi picked herself up shakily and walked to her computer. She impatiently waited for it to boot up before opening her email and addressing it to Asterick.

"Hey, Asterick... It's Megumi... When you have a moment, would you mind stopping by? I could really use your company... I had a bad day today. Another mishap with my... Condition. If you're busy though, I totally understand!! Just... Just let me know, okay? Thanks. ~Megumi Mori"

She sits back in her chair after hitting send, awaiting his response.

Asterick hears a ping from his computer, "NEW EMAIL FROM MEGUMI MORI", his face grows nervous but happy, he clicks and reads, he gives a quick response; "Be right there!", he gets up, grabs his satchel and walks on over, knocking on the door of her room, "Mori?" He calls out,

After getting his reply, Megumi sighed in relief and moved to her bed, awaiting him anxiously. She hasn't seen him since they had woken up together in her room... Megumi blushed at the mere thought. It had been... Nice. And the way his tousled hair had looked the next morning...

Her thoughts were cut off short at the sound of his knocks, her heart skipping a beat as he called her name. Her cheeks flushed a light pink as she told him, "C-coming...!" She got up from her bed slowly, and walked to get door hoping her blush wasn't too pronounced. She opened the door slightly, and peeked her head out, giving him a small smile before widening the door and inviting him in.

He smiles and walks in, placing his bag near the wall and turning to her, "Well hi there", it's been a little over a week since he last saw her, he was happy about that day, he's held the memory, hoping to see her soon again, and now he's seeing her now, things couldn't be better, "How've you been?"

"Oh, you know... Being a social butterfly is a lot of work." Megumi scoffs and sits down on her bed, patting it, inviting him to join her. After cuddling up to her blanket, which had long lost the scent of her old room, she spoke again. "I... I fell today... Some boys laughed at me..." She hides her face in her blanket, and begins to tear up a bit.

Asterick walks over to the bed and sits by her, I wish I could do more for her, this obviously makes her down, but the best I know I can do, is be right here, right now, he slowly, with hesitation at first, but then following his gut, Just do it..., he moves his only hand over slightly, and lightly puts it on her shoulder.

"I see", he says, "I heard social butterflies aren't paid as well as Social Workers" he teases a little, in hopento make her smile, This is gonna sound dumb, thisisgonnasounddumb..., "Are you feeling okay though? I mean like, now, not when it happened".

I know she's not feeling OK, but whatever keeps me in this room with her longer is what I'll do.

"My knee hurts quite a bit..." Megumi motioned to her right leg, and upon eyeing it, she noticed that a great amount of blood had run down her leg from it. "O-oh... That... That's a lot of b-blo...-" Suddenly, she sunk into Asterick, fainting from both light headedness and the sight of her blood.

"Ah shit", he see's it creeping down her leg like blood always does, and then feels a push against him as he realises she fainted. He carefully gets her off him and moves her body to full laying position on the bed. He tries to look for something around the too find something that'll soak up the blood, remembering he has his gym towel in his bag.

Bringing it out and dabbing it with the water from the water bottle in there, and wipes up the blood. He then applies some pressure to stop any more bleeding. And before seeing it's stopped, he then sits on the side of her bad, whispering "Megumi" to her so that maybe she'll hear it in her subconscious and know he's still there.

Megumi was dreaming... She had to be. She didn't have a dress that looked like this... And she certainly wouldn't be anywhere that she hasn't been before...

Megumi stood in a Chinese themed restaurant wearing a long deep purple dress, her hair up in an elegant bun. "Megumi..." She turned towards the sudden voice, and saw Asterick not far off wearing a classy suit. He walked towards her slowly, and upon arriving, he gently placed his hand upon her cheek. He looked down at her with his goofy, yet handsome smile and said her name once more. Leaning in slowly, he parts his lips, moving in for a kiss. Megumi felt her heart beat faster and faster, and just as his lips lightly brushed against hers, she awakened.

Eyes fluttering a bit, she lifted an arm to rub them, and asked allowed, "Wh-... What happened...?"

Asterick looks over at her and see's that she's awake now, she has that waking-up face we all get, he can't help but smile at how cute she looks here, "Oh you just fainted is all, you were bleeding somewhat so I cleaned it up and waited until you woke up", he smiles and gives her a pat, "You look tired, though".

She looks a little flushed, too. Pretty

"Are you feeling better though? I have water if you need it", he bends over and picks up the bottle he had and shakes it while looking at her.

She jumps a bit at his voice, momentarily forgetting his presence. She looked up at him, images from her dream flooding her head. She looked away, blushing furiously. Who was she kidding? He would never feel that way about her... Who could? He would eventually get tired or bored of her stupid ways, and leave. And sadly... She was okay with that. She understood. It would hurt. Boy, would it hurt. But... She wouldn't hate him for it.

Megumi let out an audible sigh, and cuddled into her blanket. She looked back at him for a moment, wanting to touch his handsome face... But she held herself back. Remembering he had asked a question, she just shook her head no.

She needed to cherish this time. She needed something to look back upon when he left her. So, Megumi sat up next to Asterick once more and smiled a small smile at him. "Have you done your homework? Maybe we could do it together?"

He glanced at his bag on the ground, Do I? Whether he did or didn't was beyond him, but he wanted to stay here. He looked into her eyes, a pretty shade, he put his one hand across her face, tracing it a little. Then, giving her a hug. One that he meant, one that he wanted to last for a long while,

The moments we give are the ones we cherish,
The ones that burn will be deep in the perish.
Missing the old sun because the old one left,
But waiting for the new one to cause zest

"You're pretty", he smiles.

Megumi jumped a bit at his touch, his hand warm and soft. Her cheeks turned a deep crimson as she looked up into his eyes, and her heart skipped a beat at his words. "I-... I..." His smile contagiously bends her own lips into a smile of her own, and she looks away, her blush still high on her cheeks.

He continues to smile while looking at her eyes, wanting to press it, but too intoxicated in the moment,

"You what?", he asks, giving in and wanting to know.

I like this girl, lets dig deeper.

"I... Uhm... I..." She couldn't even begin to think of words to say, much less actually speak! Megumi felt a little lightheaded. Never had she been this close to anyone, much less a really handsome and sweet guy! But she had to say something. Anything at this point... C'mon, Megumi... Say something...! Say something, dammit!

"I-... Iwouldreallylikesomewaternow!!" Idiot...

"Oh", he face is a little solumn but he smiles, lets go and hands her the bottle, "Here ya' are", he smiles childlishly, like a flash of a five year old.

Asterick wants to say the words, but is nervous, and does not wanna startle her. So he sits there as he watches her deink; anything is better than being alone.

Idiotidiotidiot!!! Angry at herself, Megumi took the bottle from him a little more roughly than usual and drank from it. She actually was kinda thirsty, so the water was nice, but dammit. A kiss would have been a million times better.

He takes the bottle back and notes the rush in the drink, he knows what he should of done but he may be too late, but maybe I'm not. He moves a little closer to her, both persons holding the look for a little.

Asterick thinks to himself,

This isn't a normal thing to do, but I'm not normal.

He says the words "Megumi...", just like in her dream, and puts his hand on her cheek, lightly, but making sure she knows it's there.

She shudders slightly at his touch, looking up into his eyes. As a blush tints her cheeks once more, she opens her mouth to speak, but nothing comes out. Instead, she closes her mouth and smiles at him. Her smile is warm and bright, her eyes squinting warmly.

Asterick can hear his own heart beating, he doesn't move and neither does she. He feels a wamring embodiment of closure around them, which as corny as it sounds, feels like they're the only two people in the world. He chuckles a little at the lack of finding a better metaphor for this feeling, but it's the best thing that describes it.

And then; he feels the tug in the back of his mind, and instead of letting it nudge at him again, he goes with it;

He kisses her, lightly, but firm.

Lay your feelings on the table,
Leave them subtle but not a trouble.
Hold them in the moonlight;
Let it go because it always shines.

Every little thought, every little worry vanishes from her mind as his lips grace hers softly. Unsure what to do with herself, as she has never been in this situation before, she tries to copy his movements, pressing her lips against his with the same intensity, as she wraps her arms softly around his shoulders. She felt... Lighter than air.

It was the best she had felt since her accident.

He pulls away, her arms still around him, and in a voice, soft and quiet but aduible and real;

"I like you, Megumi."

He wanted to say it before he lost his chance to, before he went on and regretted not telling her.

He repeats what he said, knowing now that he wants her to know, no more letting things slip by him. No more setting the future up for misery; I am not a bump in the road.

Her eyes widen, and her cheeks continue to burn a deep pink, like a carnation.

"M-me...? You... You like... Y-you like me...?" She couldn't believe it. How... How could anyone as amazing as Asterick... As sweet... As handsome... How could someone like him have feelings for her...? Was... Was it a joke? Was he trying to pull a prank on her?

She searched deep into his eyes, trying to find an ulterior motive. Unable to find one, she stares up at him in disbelief.

"Well yes", he smiles as he says it, "I do like you", he gives her a look of genuine honesty, "I'm sorry if jt came out blunt but it's best to be upforward than vague, heh-heh",

He looks around the toom a little before turning to her eyes, "You don't have to like me back if you don't I just wanna say my feelings before I lose the chance"

"N-no! I... I-I... ILIKEYOUTOO!!" Megumi's words come out louder than she meant for them to, as she frantically tried to relay to him her feelings. She grabbed onto the bottom of his shirt as she looked into his eyes, embarrassed for her blunder.
