Classroom Stuff. Yaaaaay-pffff.

Post by Satoshi Veach on Wed Mar 13, 2013 5:12 am

Oh god I hate homework so much-I want to set it all next to a pound of C-4 mixed with gunpowder and blow it up.

Sitting in class I am fighting to stay awake and no it is not because of my narcolepsy that I am losing conciousness.

Soon though I wake myself by pulling the whole 'ear bud through the sleeve' trick and manage to listen to the tale end of Old Man Mutou's lecture enough to at least get the assignment.

"Alright, I highly recommend pairing up with a fellow classmate for this assignment. Get to it."

We are given the notice that it is unlikely we will get this all done ourselves but, like he said, pairing up should considerably lower the work load.

Consiquently I get a tap on my shoulder.

"Mm?"

A small questioning noise subconciously sneaks from my lips as if to say "Speak."

Hawke himself had been struggling to keep his eyes open during Mutou's lecture as well, he was pretty sure the lesson was geography or something.... Who cares about rivers anyway? Not Hawke. In his mind he was thinking about playing to an arena full of screaming female fans... It was a good dream.

When Mutou gave his sinister proclomation that the work was extra hard and would requure two brains, Hawke immediately sauntered over to Satoshi's desk and gave him a hsarty poke in the ribs.

"Mm?"

*E with a suspiciously good Jamaican accent* " "Wagwan mon brah! Do ya wanna get down and dirtee wid da ol' geographeeee?

(Chris, listening attentively to Mutou's lecture on dictators of the past, stands up and begins speaking aloud in a bleak monotone, much like the late Joseph Stalin.) Men and women of the motherland, now is the time for solidarity. Now is the time to break free of the shackles of fear... (Chris continues on with his speech.)

A Jamaican? I knew they were...interesting but I didn't know they could confuse a physics teacher with a geography teacher.

I look up with a smile that fades right when I notice it's actually Hawke.

Oh...huh...well.......guess he fits right into quite a few rocker stereotypes now.

*E* "Yeh-sure thing, bredduh. I bet we could get it done before the end o' class."

That's a total lie. With my rubbish work ethic on homework and...well a kid who somehow got geography from physics I doubt we will.

Somehow I get the feeling we will some how find a way to answer a negative amount of questions, actually.

*thumpthud*

I hear someone loudly get up and randomly start speaking words that I swear I recognize.

It's Cook's voice quoating Joseph Stalin.

"...Pardon me for a second-Hawke."

I rush out of my desk, jump over another, and stand by Cook without even questioning his logic before shouting in German. (A speech I've practiced exactly for moments like this.)

All the while I am standing and pounding on a nearby desk much like aaaa...a different dictator from History would do.

*G* "Deputies! Men of the German Reichstag!"

"At a time when only deeds count and words are of little importance, it is not my intention to appear before you, the elected representatives of the German people, more often than absolutely necessary! The first time I spoke to you was at the outbreak of the war when, thanks to the Anglo-French conspiracy against peace, every attempt at an understanding with Poland, which otherwise would have been possible, had been frustrated!!"

(Chris imitates pouring himself a glass of vodka. Then, he turns to formally address Satoshi.) You will never conquer the motherland, sir. Napolean couldn't do it. My nation may be largely impoverished, but we have strength in unity and numbers.

I appear to have travelled through a wormhole and reappeared in the 20th century. Why am I the only sane one here? Hawke sighs to himself. I guess if we're making great speeches...

Slowly standing up, Hawke puts his hand in his blazer pocket, and the other across his stomach. He turns to the rest of the class, and in his best aristocratic accent: "We shall go on to the end. We shall study Geography, we shall study physics and chemistry, we shall study with growing confidence and growing strength in the classroom, we shall defend our ignorance, whatever the cost may be. We shall study on the benches, we shall study on the playing grounds, we shall study in the fields and in the streets, we shall study in the dorms; we shall never surrender"

Mutou is staring in disbelief at the three boys-turned-war generals, and sits back down in his chair and collapses into a tangle of unkept hair and sorrow. "I give up..."

By now not only is every student in the class room staring at us like we're insane and cracking up a bit but there are actually some in the door way who happened to be walking by at the time who stopped in amazement.

"That was great-haha! *inhale*...Wait-why did we even do that?"

I give it some thought before saying,"Ah whatever-I don't even care anymore."

I put my hand atop the desk I jumped over earlier and vault myself over it like a soldier jumping over cover and go back to Hawke so we can start the assignment even with almost everyone still staring at us like "*Sigh*..Foreigners..."

"Dude, Mutou is a physics teacher. He's been one here for the past 20-something-years. Who knows how long before he came here."

I give a good chuckle.

"It's the 30th of February. Monday."

Biggest lie ever told in all of history.

"I forgot about your memory."

What I just said hits me.

"....Figures-don't it?"

"My memory is not the greatest either. My mummah was where I got it from."

"Aye, Yosiff Stalin, man. Got a partner?"

"It's a monday..? I thought it was Wednesday... and March... HEY. That's not funny. And yeah, Chris, come join us. We gotta do this maths work."

It then hits me.

"Physics work. Physics."

"Jew-fro, he means, Hawke. I haven't heard that term in soooooo long."

An older term my second oldest brother learned as a child. As a result he passed it to me when I grew my hair out.

Nostalgia hits me of home.

"Right now we are on paaaaage...."

I open our book and then look at the board before confirming what page it is.

"264-2 6 4."

The next bit of time we spend working on the assignment is filled with frustration over my work ethic-or lack of it-, Hawke forgetting a bit how to do the math behind it, and Cook being the energetic guy he is when all we're doing is class work.

"Bro,we got to get you them pills-I tell ya."

I was actually referring to how you were trying your hand at impersonating Adolf Hitler earlier, Satoshi, but thanks for filling me in on part of your backstory.

It's okay, Satoshi. I sometimes experience Vietnam flashbacks... (Chris fakes like he's frozen in place with trauma.)

"Yeah, that Nam. Man."

With really wide eyes and a serious face I continue.

"The sights I've seen there haunt me to this day..."

It takes a bit but with all three of us we are able to finish the assignment with a few minutes of time to spare.
