Ryuu Taketa

NAME: Ryuu Hideki Taketa
AGE: 16
CLASS: Junior
APPEARANCE: Standing at 5'9, Ryuu is of average height with long, white hair and blue eyes. His build is a quite small due to a problem in early development and can easily be underestimated. If you were to lift the back of his hair high enough you would see a fairly large gruesome scar on the back of his neck area. When out of his school uniform he generally likes to wear cumbersome clothing unless it is Summer time. During warmer weather he generally will wear longer shorts and a light long sleeve shirt.
BACKSTORY: As a child Ryuu Taketa's parents were informed about his trouble with early growth and development as well as a problem with brain development.To be more exact, he has weak bones and is mentally slow. As a toddler he was offered an experimental technology (which his parents accepted for him) that was a brain-altering chip-like contraption that was theorized to make the brain much stronger which would, not only get rid of his mental disability, but would fabricate him into a border-line genius. The neural implant and procedure would be fully paid for as long as he could be studied up close after and as he grew up studied from afar through reports of activity and such (side note: after Russia put the PAK-FA in service in 2015, the world knew that America was finally caught up with in aviation technology so the country's science programs became more oriented for practical uses like Japan's. With more materials developed, America grew economically as the 'international supplier' much like the Middle East did before oil use was monitored more. This allowed for better materials and more supplies for manufacturing new technology around the world. Nations now are even beginning to show signs of prosperity just a short five years later from this event. Japan is one of the countries that is experiencing an economic up-turn so they decided to make more medical technology. This neural implant was made for that reason and is the first of it's kind. All they needed was a test subject. Ryuu just happened to fit their needs and checks. The root reason for this technology is simply to create stronger citizens like what was the goal of Nazism but in a way that only can benefit society.) After such technologies were implemented, the alterations were successful in a few ways and a failure in many more. Miraculously, though some of the failures were quite good depending on how someone looks at it. Taketa's brain was corrected in the targeted area but was damaged in others including his speech, leaving him destined to a life with a stutter. One more problem-this one he seems to like and here's the kicker-unlocked a portion of the brain not previously unlocked ever before. It did not give Ryuu a genius I.Q. but what it did do is give him the ability to form tentacle-like, clear in color (a shimmer can be visible if you look hard), shapes of pure mental energy from his body if he concentrates hard enough. This ability also allows him to perform strength-wise as long as it's only for a short time if he hides the energy through his arms or legs. One more interesting ability (This he hasn't found out yet) is, if he's touching a source of some sort of energy (including himself, though that is very dangerous), he may be able to draw out energy and lightly enhance the mental energy with some other form such as heat, light, electric, and sound energy. Even after all of these screw-ups were discovered, he was sent out into society anyway to see if he could socially integrate himself with his abilities. He ended up socially integrating himself (even if it was a little off) but never revealed his implant for reasons of a possibility of bringing a bad name to himself and his family he tries to hide his ability. Throughout his life as he grew up, Ryuu also grew his hair for the sake of hiding his scar on the back of his neck so that nobody even asks of it. Not one of the things he likes to talk about.
Taketa was always aware his record was being watched and always tried to keep it clean of any fights or anything, trying to stay a surface pacifist in order to indirectly get revenge for putting him through life like this. His mental arms he generally uses for practical use (such as cooking with the heat energy by touching an outlet and the pan with food in it or charging his phone by running around). Of course, he knows that this is both a way to over all improve his own life and at least give the government research for technology that could be helpful to other people perhaps without the cost of going as far as recklessly putting others at risk. Lord knows, if he were to publicly defend himself and get caught he may give the government weapons technology research. Something he does not want to happen.
When growing up he was often segregated from other students for his disorders and, though the treatment about his stutter dissipated later on in life, the treatment for his bone structure did not. He was not bullied for it-for some reason anyone who bullied him only did once-but was left out for his physical incompetence.
Near the end of his middle school days, for reasons involving the weight of the books needed for homework as well as the opportunity to socially accel, he was recommended to a school located about an hour drive from his home by the name of Yamaku where he has been for the past nearly two years.
PERSONALITY: Taketa is generally a playful person with friends and testy around strangers. Likes a good joke and loves to play music on the piano. He especially likes to play music by himself or with his hands hidden so he may also use his ability to play music that would generally be impossible for any normal person (the more he concentrates, the more thin the 'arms' can become. Down to about the size of about a finger if he tries). Other than that he will use them with general day-to-day activities such as carrying things or giving himself an edge with others (for instance maybe if he likes a girl he'll...I don'know knock her pencil off her desk so he can pick it up for her and start conversation).
One more detail that may be important later on is any type of physical comfort is the best way to cheer him up like a pat on the back or a hug.

After some deliberation, I am not sure how believable this ends up being. I do not know how you afforded this technology nor do I understand why it was you out of so many people that got to make use of this tech. I do see how this ability contributes to his characterization but I feel that it needs to be scaled down a bit as right now as I find it hard to believe.

Also why is this chip which supposedly raises a person's IQ even if it doesn't fully work not readily available for normal use? I would believe they would profit off this somehow.


Also, the extra information about energy transfer as a no-go, I don't know how you really plan to use it but I don't like what it's implying. We aren't entering combat so I don't quite know why even having that ability is useful.

Just try to clarify what you're doing here a little more, I can't accept it as is, but I will ask for some clarification and for some of our concerns to be cleared to revisit it.

As long as you continue to avoid any combat situations and abuse of your abilities, I suppose this checks out. He seems specifically opposed to the idea of ever abusing what he does have. I'll keep a close eye on it, but I'll approve it.

Just like with the other supernatural characters here, we'll be watching you and let you know if we think you're powerplaying using your abilities. But other than that, you're approved.
