[ Open ] Misplaced.

She'd lost it. Out of all the things to misplace in the classroom, why'd it have to be that! Morning lessons had finished for the day, and thus the small classroom was empty of anyone other than the lone teenager, who stood beside the desk she'd previously been sat at, gazing around the room in confusion. Just five minutes before, she'd had her notebook stuffed in her pocket, or at least she thought she had. And now, it had sprouted legs and walked off it seemed. And without the notebook, she really didn't want to go through the trouble of finding another way to communicate with people. Being mute could be a pain at the best of times - even with the notebook. And thus, she carried on looking under the desks and around the room.

SUmiko walks back to her classroom. She had a notebook that she had found on the floor not to long ago. With no name and to no avail of people knowing whose this was she headed back to where she had found it in the first place. The classroom door was still wide open so she peeked her head inside seeing a young maiden turning the place upside down. Sumkio musters enough courage and walks slowly toward her
"E-Excuse me?"

After a long day of classes I am quite energetic, surprisingly.

In my arms is my drawing pad I was using.

I was drawing in the hall way while waiting for one of my friends from his class but I never seemed to notice him leave.

Guess he was sick today.

Poor kid has a bad immune system. Hardly ever is able to come to class anymore.

One thing I did notice, though is a girl silently and frantically looking for something.

Since I always make it a point to help people out even if I don't know them, I decide to intervene.

I wonder why she isn't making any noises of frustration. It's normal human behavior, after all...

"Hey there, looking for something?"

Oh shit, it's that Nakagawa girl.

my words have already escaped my mouth though so it wouldn't be proper to just up and leave without saying anything further.

Having failed in finding it, Rii stood back up before noticing two students had wandered in. And both had managed to speak to her - Which she had no means of replying to them. However, taking a closer look upon the female student, she noticed her lost notebook in the girls hands. Well, here goes nothing. Rii gestured to the notepad, then to herself - Trying to portray the fact she had lost it. Perhaps she should write her name on it in the future.

Sumiko looks at the notebook
"T-this is yours? H-here..."

She took the notebook gratefully - Glad that someone hadn't taken it as a prank from her. Reaching into her pocket, she pulled out a pencil and wrote in it.

~Sorry - thanks! I thought I'd lost this for good.~

Rii rolled her eyes, mainly at her own clumsyness - she also nodded in greeting towards the male.

"Erm yes...yes-that is a note pad."

What is she doing?

...

Waaaaait, there is a reason she's doing this.

God, I hate not understanding such things.

"Was that what you were looking for?"

I read the note.

Aaaah, so she is mute.

"O-oh. My apologies."

I'm a little embarrassed.

"Y-Your welcome..."
It seems like everything was back in it place...though she tries not to make eye contact with the male. she can't remember his name for the life of her even though he had introduced himself to her just yesterday.

~It's fine, no need to apologise. It often confuses people at first.~

Rii shrugged, picking up her satchel in her other hand - as she'd only briefly left the room previously, and had spent a good half an hour searching the classroom for the pad.

(Chris is currently being lectured by Mutou for sleeping in class for the third time since school started.) Mutou-sensei, I apologize for my unsatisfactory behavior.

"I haven't seen you around before. How long have you've been here?"

"As for the pad-"

Don'tsayitdon'tsayitDON'TSAY-!

"-what's the reason behind it?"

SON OF A BITCH-YOU SAID IT. YOU SAID IT YOU TACTLESS A-HOLE!

Man, why did I ask such a thing? For all I know, it could be a bad memory for her. I've known of many cases in which someone has simply chosen to be mute because of an experience of some sort.

(Chris is recommended to go pay a visit to Yamaku's newest guidance counselor; Densor Hemmington. He bids farewell to Mutou and leaves the classroom.)

~I've only been here a couple of weeks. Oh? The pad? Well, theres quite a few conversations I've had in the past that are in here. One sided, admittedly. But I'd just rather not lose it.~

Rii explained, not really bothered by the question. The pad was mainly used for doodling, and conversing with people - which often freaked people out. Because her mute-ism was physical, undeveloped vocal chords, it meant she could still write.

"Aah, okay."

I probably shouldn't butt in much more.

"Well, see you around, Rii."

I bow to her and to the other next to me.

She watch the boy leave the class room then turns back to Rii
"Rii is y-your name? I'm S-Sumiko Nakagawa..."

~Nice to meet you. I've seen you around a bit, but never had the chance to speak - er, write - to you.~

"I-I not very f-fond of people. not since...."

~Ah? Well, I can assure you I'm not scary.~

Rii grinned. She decided not to touch on the fact she'd let her sentance trail off.

Sumiko nods she feels that can trust Rii but is hesitant on her own decision.
"H-How did you lose your notebook in t-the first place?"

~I put it down somewhere, then forgot where.~

Rii smiled, shrugging slightly.

"It w-was lucky i found it r-right? Sumiko smiles nervously. First time she has talked with someone other then a male since coning to the school. Sumkio felt a bit of happiness in her heart.
