Hawke struggles with the key to his new room, and after a few minutes manages to get the door open. He steps into the spacious room and takes a look around. It's bare at the moment, but give him five minutes, and it will be "homely".

He starts by setting out all of his instruments on his side of the room - he'd already called the window side with the walk-in closet. The guitar, keyboard, melodica, bass guitar, microphones, banjo, ukulele, trumpet, saxophone and whole host of other instruments take up a large section of his side, and he only just manages to squeeze in his computer.

He throws open the window and takes a breath of fresh air.

Spending a couple of weeks with Wade - most excellent!

In preparation, Hawke had procured several bottles of various drinks, and a fair few beers. He hadn't told any of his other friends, but he'd see if Wade wanted a house-warming party.

The door to the dorm opens.

Wade quickly pushes the key in the keyhole without caring too much about intruding on Hawke's privacy, then turns it and opens the door. 'BRACE YOURSELF, FOR THE PARTY HAS ARRIVED!!!' he yells out, then turns around and begins dragging a large suitcase inside. After pulling it in, he closes the door behind him and starts unpacking - 3 videogame consoles, with at least a dozen games for each, four controllers, and the complete DVD boxset of "The Golden Girls". 'There's a TV outside. Go get it while I take care of these babies!'

As Wade bursts through the door, Hawke gives a cheer. "Right on!"

As he hobbles past Wade, he picks up the boxset of DVDs: The fuck... Kids got weird taste in TV.

He easily drags in the TV and plugs it in in the centre of the room.

"Merry birthmas." He says, while throwing Wade a bottle of his finest liquor - Cointreau.

'Uh... Yeah, cheers, mate!' Wade grins and lifts the bottle up, then opens it and takes a few gulps. 'Ah! MAN, where do you find that stuff?!?' he closes the bottle and throws it back to Tiberius.

"Fairly extensive collection of discontinued and vintage concoctions at home - private jets are useful when you want to bring a suitcase full of bottles into the country."

Hawke drinks a couple of measures, then sits on his bed. "Your console is looking awfully lonely, I think it wants somebody to play with."

'Couldn't have said it better myself!' Wade gives a thumbs-up, then skillfully places the consoles next to the TV and begins plugging them in, one by one. It only takes him a few minutes to set everything up. 'There we go! Now, let's see...' he says as he throws the case full of games on his bed, then sits down next to it and begins looking through it. 'We can play through Mass Effect 5's co-op campaign, or we can get through that Tomb Raider/Uncharted crossover that just came out! If all else fails, we can just play a few deathmatches in Call of Duty: Galactic Warfare 2!'

"Eesh! They did a sequel to that dire Call of duty game? I'm surprised the company even survived after the god-awful Modern Warfare 8. Mass Effect sounds good, fire 'er up!"

'Ha-ta-ta-ta-ta!' Wade raises his hand in front of Hawke's face. 'If we're going to be roommates, you will NOT mention Modern Warfare 8's existence! As far as we're concerned, that never happened!' he explains, looking quite serious for a bit before grinning again. 'Anyway, Mass Effect is awesome! The thing is, both players make different choices, and the result is a completely different experience each time! I mean, there's still only one ending no matter what you do, but it's the journey that mattes, not the destination!' he explains as he takes the disc out of its case and pushes it into his PS4.

"I'm glad the general consensus among game developers is now that multiple endings are bad. I mean, why have endings people won't like? It's absurd. Mass Effect is one of the few franchises that do this well."

'I know, right! It's just an incentive to get people to play their overpriced games more! "Oh yeah, you need to collect every piece of equipment, do every sidequest, beat every bonus dungeon, collect every achievement and do 100% Paragon choices in order to see the ending with the Reapers' homeworld!" Friggin bullshit! Why do I need to do that when I can simply look it up on YouTube and not even bother with it?' Wade finishes his rant as he boots the game up and selects the Co-Op option. He picks his character, a level 57 Turian soldier in a red and black armor. 'Are you gonna make your character?'

"Ummm.... I guess. Although, I have a feeling it will pale in comparison to yours.." Hawke says, then grins and sets about making a character. He goes for the standard human and decides to make it an Engineer. "I prefer support roles." Hawke makes the character as goofy as possible, giving him bright pink armor, Red hair, and an incredibly large nose and buck teeth.

"He'll be called... Mutou."

'Well, whaddya expect, this is gonna be my third time playing through the game, and I've always used the same character! TURIANS MASTER RACE!!!' Wade exclaims proudly. 'I think a human is a good idea if you're playing an engineer. Typically, Quarians tend to have MUCH better tech stats, but they totally suck at combat, and the entire game would've become like one huge escort mission, and that ain't no fun. My Turian friend here, or Taris the Terminator, as I like to call him, is a weapons expert, meaning he's good with anything from a pistol to a sniper rifle. I'll cover you while you do your... techy stuff, but don't leave all the work to me, y'hear?'

The boy chuckles as Hawke chooses the name. 'Mutou? What kind'a name is Mutou, anyway?'

"You haven't met met Mutou? He's the kinda goofy lookin' science teacher. Looks like David Tennant after the BBC fired him and turned to drugs."

In truth, Hawke hadn't played Mass Effect in a fair few years, so all of what Wade said went straight over his head, so he simply nodded and watched the opening cinematic.

"Oh... so we just found the cryogenically frozen brain of Commander Shepard? And it's being captured by an evil race of aliens... and being put in a giant robot and forced to do evil..... Original."

'Nope, haven't met him. Only science teacher I know is the Raiden-wannabe that teaches the seniors. Hah, get it? Cuz they both have white hair, an eyepatch and cybernetic... Never mind...' Wade sighs and makes a mental note not to reference franchises that haven't gotten a sequel in at least 5 years.

'Dude, don't diss the story! It gets better later on! You get to fight the giant Shepard cyborg at his favorite spot on the Citadel, and whether or not you kill him changes the ENTIRE third act of the game! IT'S GREAT!'

".... Wonderful!" Hawke shouts in glee, and sets about laying waste to the citizens roaming the Citadel.

"You don't mind us murdering the entire galaxy do you? Good."

Hawke picks up another bottle with a birght label, and takes a swig. He gives a similar bottle to Wade.

'Oh, hell, yes!' Wade grins. 'Renegade all the way! The needs of the few outweigh the needs of the many LET'S ROCK!'

He grabs the bottle, then twists the cap open and drinks a little before setting it aside. 'Wanna pull an all-nighter and get through the whole thing? If we ignore most side quests, the campaign can be beaten in, like, six hours'

Hawke's phone buzzes and he pauses the game.

He mumbles a quick excuse and runs out the door.
