Re: [Private] Cook's Corner.
Despite being only about a meter away, chiharu's stature and gaze seem surprisingly distant, and content with the quiet situation.

Re: [Private] Cook's Corner.
Whilst Izumi is fine with the quiet situation, he notes the silence has lasted a while and can sense a sense of impatience for it to end, at least from one party.
"Vacation is coming up in a few weeks, I wonder if anyone has anything planned." Quite a simple topic and hopefully one that would diverge from the past two. He spoke in a softer tone, in case no-one wished to speak in order to preserve as much silence as he could. It would seem strange for him to be content with such silence and then decide to just break it. Then again, thoughts seem to run different shades of wild within such voids. Perhaps it had some sensibility then, given the context.

Re: [Private] Cook's Corner.
Chiharu snaps back into reality to respond, "Well I just got here, so I don't really have any plans. But, what's this festival I've been hearing about?"

Re: [Private] Cook's Corner.
"They announced a festival?"
Sumiko asked almost immediately
"When was this?"
Multiple thoughts going through her head plans being made and places and things to get.

Re: [Private] Cook's Corner.
A bit surprised at sumiko's mini-panic, but she responds in her usual soft, deliberate, tone.
"Well, I haven't seen any kind of official anouncement, but there's been plenty of chatter, I just assumed it was an annual thing."

Re: [Private] Cook's Corner.
"Ah yes, I recall now. On the first day of vacation; to send us off on the right foot, the school is holding their annual summer festival. It should be filled with different stalls and events that should keep us properly entertained. Speaking of such, students are encouraged to help assist with making stalls and such for general use during it to make sure everything runs smoothly. Sort of the reason why I wanted to learn how to make Dango was that I was going to work on my own stall where I'll be serving various items for consumption. I was researching different foods, I just noted I lacked knowledge on this one when I was out at the park."
Izumi smiled for a second before continuing. Not fazed by Sumiko's slight panic. The only place where any information was posted at least to his knowledge was the large bulletin board in the main hall. Not a lot of students care to give it a second glance to his knowledge.
"It's a nice change of pace from the usual nothing that occurs. Also, it was posted on the main bulletin board however I can understand how one would overlook it, as I just said, much of nothing occurs usually."

Sumiko nods listening carefully to Inaba speaking
"Do both of you plan on going with someone?"
She asked as her head looked up to the sky

"Well, I want to figure out what it's supposed to be like before I make any commitments that I can't fulfill. I may not go at all."
She doesn't seem all that upset about the thought of missing out on the festival, for she seems not to be even paying attention to the conversation in the first place.

Re: [Private] Cook's Corner.
"If memory serves me correctly, since it's summer it should be Tanabata. Which celebrates the meeting of the deities Orihime and Hikoboshi. They are represented by the stars Altair and Vega. According to legend, the Milky Way separates these lovers, and they are allowed to meet only once a year on the seventh day of the seventh lunar month of the lunisolar calendar. To spare all the extraneous details, I'll go right into the events that could probably occur."
Izumi pauses to allow them time to breathe, after a while he looks up into the distance toward the horizon and continues, with a softer tone.
"There are your usual stalls of food and there might be some student made festival games about. Knowing a little about some of the seniors, I am sure they have some strange ideas for games. The general event is something a little more subtle than a parade or whatever else would be thought of. Â People generally celebrate this day by writing wishes, sometimes in the form of poetry,on small pieces of paper, and hanging them on bamboo, sometimes with other decorations. Sort of like a wish tree I suppose. The bamboo and decorations are often set afloat on a river or incinerated after the events of the festival, around midnight or on the next day. This resembles the custom of floating paper ships and candles on rivers during Obon."
Izumi then turns his attention back to the two and smiles kindly. He once again uses a soft spoken and calming tone to phrase his statement. It's almost as if whatever just happened a while ago didn't even happen.
"Knowing that you think and believe more in the tangible, it all seems silly to you I suppose. I wouldn't blame you if you don't go."

Re: [Private] Cook's Corner.
Chiharu shrugs as she looks back over at the two others with a soft smile while saying, "I don't know, it sounds fun. I might go, if only for a short while."
She then perks up a bit, holding her hands together and adding a slight skip to her step for a short moment as she speaks, overall a look of excitement that seems to not fit her usual demeanor at all.
"Anyways, it gives me an excuse to dress up!"

Re: [Private] Cook's Corner.
She calms back down to her normal self as she continues.
"Well, I brought along this one yukata from home that I like to wear sometimes, y'know just *shrug* 'cuz I feel like it, but now for the first time I actually have a decent reason to wear it, and in public."

Re: [Private] Cook's Corner.
"Mmmm, Nope, the only place I ever wore it was at home. As you can probably guess, I didn't really get out much."
A smirk finds its way on to her face after she's done speaking.

He let them speak for a while before noticing how far from the store they were, he decided to calmly interrupt.
"Speaking of getting places, we're not too far from the store now."

As they approach, chiharu nonchalantly quickens her pace to come to the front right as they arrive so as to be able to hold the door for her friends as they enter.

"Thank you."
Sumiko picks up a basket from up front. Looking around, standing on her toes for a bit before heading to get a few ingredients.

Izumi simply nods his head and in a low voice says "Thank you" as he enters as well. He looks around at the different products sold and picks a small box of pocky up. He then simply makes his way toward the counter and pays it off as he waits for the others.

Chiharu walks along with sumiko, grabbing things from the shelves while sumiko holds the basket.
"So.. Have you ever made these before?"
