[Private] Initial check in.

Chiharu quietly peaks her head into the office and in a flat tone says, "Hello"
<I probably shouldn't have come alone. I wonder when my brain is going to catch up with the current events and start getting worried about dieing>

Declan looks up from his desk and calls out to the girl who's head is peering out into the office. "You can come in." He states nonchalantly. Declan had just recently finished up writing his report on Sumiko and discharging her from the office. It was nice to see that there was some sense of camaraderie in these troubled times. Declan knew that the girl who was about to come in was new, as he has no record of her on the computerized registry system he uses often to pull up a students prior medical history. He sighs a bit knowing the process is a long one and it would take a while for him to file an extensive enough report to trace back whenever he required. That was part of his job and he just had to deal with it. He finishes filing the report and places it in Sumiko's folder as he looks on to see if the girl had entered yet.

Having entered the room and pushed the door towards being close, yet without enough force for it to push pass the springs in the doorknob, she promptly sits down on the bed and begins to apologise, "I'm sorry I didn't come right after school."

"Normally, I would fault you, however during these times, walking around out of school hours is more a hazard to your health than any other option you had available. Based on those facts alone, I don't blame you for not having done so." He shuts the cabinet where all the files and folders lay and turns back to her "Also, don't feel as if I am going to go into some rant about getting along with others or going to a new school or any of that, I am sure most students understand the standard process. I am just here to make sure your healthy and cared for." Declan smiles reassuringly. "Now, tell me a little about yourself, as in there is a reason for most of our student body ends up arriving at this school. I only have at hand what I have been given as your official reason for being here with little in the way of elaboration. I'll let you have those honors." Declan continues to smile faintly as he seems to be attentive to whatever she has to say. Declan was more of a listener than a talker, he only truly spoke in measured amounts. Quite little speech was wasted even though he had times, just like now where he overstates what he wants to say, perhaps in an attempt to say what he feels is enough.

<He probably wouldn't want to hear that I was late because I went on a casual stroll to the grocery store and back>
"Well the main reason I'm here is because this place is so quiet and secluded. While my condition effects all stimuli, sound seems to be the most problematic. The other reason is because my parents thought I needed to be introduced to an academically challenging environment. You can only learn so much from books. Right?"
She leans forward casually leaning against her knees with her forearms, keeping a small comfortable smile.

Declan stares at her for a second, noting her headphones as he scans her without being too pervasive. After all he only had to look for signs of discomfort and her general disposition, nothing more. After a while, in which he collected his thoughts, Declan gathers a pen from the pencil holder and clicks it. He does so in a way that it barely sounds off. He was always mindful of the situation even if he didn't have to be. "Yes, I am sure this school would fit your needs like a glove. Students without any outstanding issues pay quite a bit extra to be here because of our high academic standards. I, however must apologize in advance that you had to have come here during such perilous times. Declan then turns his attention to the matter at hand, the real reason for being here. Most students tend to underplay their disability and in all honesty that's fine. It makes them not that much different than anyone else anyways, however it still exists. It's not something that's avoidable and needs to be delved into. At least, if you worked in medical science like he does. Declan's face mellows out and no longer seems to smile, at least not visibly. It was time to get a bit serious.

"Sounds like an hypersensitivity to most external stimuli. This seems as if it stems from the central nervous system. I hadn't had to deal with a case like this in all my time as a medical practitioner, however I believe there's little reason for me to suspect anything else as of now, has this acted up on you during your initial stay so far? Also, what if anything has are these triggers. I have noted that it would be almost anything, but I would like to know what we should honestly try to avoid. Anything that would affect this more than usual for instance."

Despite Declan's shift in attitude, Chiharu continues her neutral, relaxed, stature.
"Well, the only real problem I've had so far was when I went to get lunch. The crowd was pretty bad and I went up to the roof to get some peace, resulting in me meeting sumiko. You know the rest of that story."
She takes a deep breath and averts her gaze lazily off into space before continuing.
"As for triggers... Well crowds obviously. Fast paced videos or flashing lights don't work out very well, aaand adrenaline is NOT my friend."

Declan notes all of this down and writes an extra note to send to her future instructors in case they attempt to share any videos during class as part of their curriculum. Generally asking to note the average frame rate of the presentation and to keep an eye on any rapid imaging.

"I am sure staying away from any large crowds is fairly simple, most of these students tend to stay in small groups and not massive crowds. However they still exist as you mentioned. Perhaps I could ask if you could enter lunch a small bit earlier so you can acquire your food without being stuck in crowds. Our lights are fairly dim here and don't seem to pose any issues. Also, even with the occurrences here at the school, there shouldn't really be anything that stresses you so much that you excrete any adrenaline. Try to stick close to your roommates and any friends you may have to avoid feeling sentiments of unease or fear about recent happenings."

Declan continues to write things down and once he stops looks back at her.

"Do you take any sort of treatment or medicine for this or anything else? I could use this as a point of reference as to what I can give you. I may or may not have something better to prescribe."

"Acetominophen has been the most reliable for the headaches. After some scientists published a study regarding this disorder, my doctor tried a bunch of new things. Mostly different vitamins and stuff, I think they all had potassium or something. I know that stuff worked for some people, but it just didn't do anything for me. I think the most notable thing they tried was giving me vicodin. That, heh, did not end well." She ended that string of events with a slow shake of her head and a smile on her face, only to halt the gesture and focus her attention on Declan, assuming a much more concerned look on her face.
"Is it wrong that I haven't... really been all that concerned about what's been going on. I mean, I've been thinking about it alot and all. I just haven't really been all that afraid or anything."

[OOC: I am going to take a break after this, if it takes too long we can continue in the 'morrow.]

"I can understand the possible need for painkillers but Vicodin? Seems a bit strong for what you seem to have. I think just Acetaminophen alone is enough. Also, if you're not concerned, at least you have it in mind. I think the school has done a good enough job in dealing with the issue. I think you're going along the right path. One more thing, I would like to know if you have any issues sleeping. Those with central nervous system issues occasionally have issues sleeping. I might be able to prescribe something that will assist with the auditory portion of your issues as that is what is most bothering you, but I need to know this first before trying it." Declan seems to smile again just to calm her concern a bit. It was nice to see not everyone had became a beacon of despair and fear here. Sure, terrible things were occurring but life goes on nonetheless. There's no real reason too be overly concerned. One should be mindful and aware, but not paranoid.

Chiharu tilts her head and shrugs as she says, "I have bouts of insomnia every once in a while. It's just so hard to get comfortable some times, you know... But it never lasts more than one night at a time."

Declan tapped his pen twice as he listened in intently. He had turned his internal attentions back toward the crowding issue. The winding narrow hallways and even the main hall had their fits of crowding during certain points when they did. He had surveyed the notes left behind by the former nurse regarding alternate paths to several locations of interest in the school. He had stayed silent much to the student's confusion and turned back toward her.

"I'll just be photocopying a map of sorts through the scanner, it should contain alternate routes for you to take during peak times of the day. Whilst I've already mentioned that it doesn't occur often, I don't want you to leave unprepared in case it occurs. That should also help with the crowding issue. In regards to your insomnia, it's understandable during the early days to have issues settling in. This is my first day, I can speak with experience that it is quite the ordeal. Trying to settle in. However I am sure that will pass and if not, you have the option to come around to see me to talk about it. Anything else you need me to know about, as we're about to wrap up here."

He smiled nonchalantly and turned his attention back towards the scanner, which was beginning to work on the map.

Chiharu hops off of the table and seems quite content.
"Nope. I think we got just about everything. I'll try to drop by if anything comes up though. Heh, or if anyone else goes down."

"Oy oy, the map!" He exclaims as he just got the map scanned in time. As he reviews it with a quick glance, miraculously it didn't smudge. He then calms down and passes her the map and then waves.

"Have a nice day then, and please do so, that's what I am here for." He then returns back to his desk and starts looking for his music collection.
