Chiharu walks down the hallway, with or without accompaniment.

I say "bye" to Veach, even if it doesn't seem very well directed at him, as I start heading to my own class.

As they have the same class, Chiharu slows down slightly to let Sora catch up to her.
"So, do you want me to cover for you, or do you have a plan of your own?"

I say "What?" quietly before remembering that most people don't take the same approach I do to arriving late to class. "I usually just tell why I'm late." I explain. If I explain that I'm late due to my own fault, though, Chiharu would end up included in that just due to us arriving at the same time. "I can see why you wouldn't want to do that, though, so you can cover for me too if you'd like."

"I always come in a little bit late, the teacher knows I don't do well with crowds."
She lets out smirk as she continues with, "You on the other hand, don't really have an excuse. Not that I know of anyways."

"I woke up Veach. I could say it took longer than it actually did." Small enough lie that I don't think it'd bother me too much.

She simply nods and continues into the classroom.

(Do we get a teacher character to join for a bit or does one of us write as an NPC of sorts?
Or do we stop here and say the proceeding events are insignificant?)

[Did I hear somebody say teacher?]

Hearing the door open on its well oiled hinges - Iro absolutely hated the noise of the hinges squeaking - she turns to see two of her students arriving late.

One, Chiharu Kinai, a student she had had no problems with.

The other was Sora Kimura - a new student that she hadn't had much experience with.

Iro nods to Kinai, feeling a little sorry for her having a similar condition. Sometimes Iro's synthesasia made her nauseous and gave her headaches when too many colours appeared at once.

"Kimura, you're late." She says, turning back to the board to continue her diagram of a bird in flight. "Why?" She says while adding some detail to the wing.

(How convenient.)

"Kimura, you're late."
Informing her that I'm aware would probably be interpreted as talking back.
"Why?"
"Veach fell asleep in the hallway and I was waking him up." I state.

She stops drawing for a few moments.

"Satoshi?" She asks, sounding slightly worried. Working in a school for the disabled you always had to be on the lookout for any anomalous behavior which meant she knew all of the students by name and their disabilities. Besides, she'd struck up what seemed to be a bit of mutual respect with the boy. "Is he ok?"

I nod and state that "He's fine. Why wouldn't he be?" Falling asleep unexpectedly could be problematic, I'm sure, but I don't see how it could be hazardous. If he was preforming a task involving sharp tools or fire or something it'd be understandable, but he was just in the hallway...

Iro cocks her head slightly with a confused frown.

"Oh, I don't know," She begins in a sarcastic manner, "Maybe because we're in a school for the disabled and it makes sense to check out any irregular behaviour?" She shakes her head and returns to drawing on the board.

I tilt my head slightly in confusion. Yes, it does make sense to make sure everyone's OK, but I didn't question her decision to do so. I asked how Satoshi may have been harmed by falling asleep in the hallway. Maybe he doesn't stand up every time, and he could fall down in a particularly unsafe manner or something.
I notice that the teacher has returned to her drawing, though, so I decide against interrupting her by contrasting my question's intended results with the ones given instead. I return to my desk and appear relaxed as on any other day, oblivious to whatever tension I may have induced.

"So, as we can see here the bird's wing..." Iro continues her lecture of the class, and eventually sets a task for the students to go bout drawing their own examples of movement.

She picks up her flask of tea and makes her way to Sora's table.

"I know you haven't been here long, but I just thought I'd let you know that I have to check out any irregular behavior at all." She takes a sip, "I hope I didn't embarrass you in front of the class."

My face reflects mild confusion for a few moments before returning to its usual blank state. My eyes are fully open, though, displaying my interest in the teacher's concern.
"Why would I be embarrassed?" Isn't she the one that misinterpreted my question?

My, my. This one sure is gonna be a tough one.

"Never mind." She grumbles, and heads back to her desk. The purple tone his voice gave off was making her head hurt.

The teacher's failure to answer two of my questions in a row is minorly frustrating, and the vague "never mind" leaves me, if anything, more confused than before I asked. Maybe I'll ask Veach later how falling asleep in the hallway could be hazardous, to answer one of the two questions.
Oh well.
I carry on with drawing trying to draw my pendulum within a quick, light, under-detailed sketch of an outdated clock.

Chiharu however, is spending much more time thinking about what to draw than actually drawing it. Consequently, her paper is currently blank and stays that way for quite some time.

[Completely forgot about this with my notifications not reminding me until now. It's a good thing Satoshi was probably too deep in thought about talking in space to say much anyway.]
