Shiratori Kuroo

NAME: Shiratori Kuroo (白鳥　黒男) (NOTE: This is in the Japanese style, meaning Shiratori is the surname and Kuroo is the first name)

APPEARANCE:

He has a small build when it comes to muscle, and is considered slim. His brown hair is cut short, and his bangs go down a little farther than his eyes. His face is round and he has black eyes and his nose isn't pointed and is short on his face, he has no facial hair and no visible scars on his body. He has the uncanny ability to type faster than most people on any people, often causing stares from others when he types at his fastest.

On a normal day he usually wears baggy clothing, normally with long black jeans with white sneakers and socks with a yellow T-Shirt and a white jacket (that is never buttoned up). He is almost always seen with a high-end laptop that his parents bought for him and a 256 gb flash drive.

BACKSTORY:

Kuroo was born on June 15 in Hiroshima, Japan to a rich (not to the point of a millionaire) family and he has one older brother one year older than him while his parents were . His father is a College teacher and his mother was studying to become an elementary school teacher. He has a brother that is one year older than him. His great grandparents on his fathers side both survived the atomic bombing of Hiroshima.

Kuroo was born while his parents were taking visiting relatives, and soon after he was born his parents took him to their home in Honolulu, Hawaii. It wasn't long after that which his parents noticed that something was off about their child. Kuroo seemed to get hurt, a lot. Some injuries should've been easily avoidable. Worried, his parents took him to the doctors, where he was diagnosed with congenital insensitivity to pain. His parents were shocked by this and his father nearly panicked. From this day his parents became very protective of Kuroo, keeping a close eye on his activities.

However, Kuroo hated being constantly watched by his parents. Eventually he became very rebellious, not wanting to do a single thing that his parents said. Of course, he did find one thing where his parents didn't watch him: the computer. Kuroo's parents didn't see any physical way for Kuroo to get hurt while simply sitting in front of a computer screen, so whenever they saw him on the PC they just left him to it. In fact, they encouraged him to spend time on the computer. As such, Kuroo started using computers from a extremely young age. He taught himself many things, but eventually he found something on computers that he enjoyed: computer hacking. Kuroo's brother also picked up this hobby.

Both Kuroo and his brother began sharpening their skills in hacking by trying to hack into each others computers as a form of friendly competition. This in tern caused them to become the closest of friends. Their friendly competition caused their skills to soar rapidly as they made exploits to get into the others computer end eventually they stopped using firewalls that other companies made and began using firewall programs they made. Eventually they even used their own operating systems (though they were just custom built Linux distros on Persistent USB installations). This caused their friendly competition to jump to a whole new level: getting into the other persons computer and preventing the other from getting into their computer. This caused their skills to progress even more rapidly and by the time Kuroo was 15 they were both what could be considered Elite Hackers.

However it was at that time that their parents divorced. Kuroo began living with his father who left to live in Hiroshima after getting a job in the Kasumi campus of Hiroshima University. Kuroo's brother on the other hand stayed in Honolulu with his mother. Soon after this Kuroo went public in his hacking. After a few successful hacks his alias Black Jack became well known within the computer underground, though his actual identity remained (and still is) a mystery within the computer underground. This is thanks to the multiple anti-forensics software he uses and his USB drive with the Linux Distro he created on it, allowing him to save all his data that have to do with him hacking on his jump drive rather than his computer HDD.

Kuroo's childhood was relatively uneventful, with the exception of hacking, from here on. That said, Kuroo's personality changed. He went from a rebellious and sociable kid to one that's withdrawn, no doubt due to all the sudden changes. Outside of school, Kuroo started hacking more than he had ever done before. It was something that he never wanted to stop doing, it's the only thing that makes him feel close to his brother. Because of this, Kuroo became an established "grey-hat hacker", a hacker who hacks illegally though with good will.

While Kuroo was in high school, he got injured in spite of the fact that he was trying to be careful because of his condition. Kuroo fell down from some stairs. He sprained his ankle, but of course didn't realize this until after he got home. Once his father realized that he was hurt Kuroo was taken to the hospital. The injury had gotten much worse than it originally was because of the fact that Kuroo walked on the bad foot. Kuroo's father was devastated by this, and after doing some searching around decided to send Kuroo to Yamaku where there was a nursing staff on hand "for his own safety". Kuroo tried to object but his father wouldn't take no for an answer. Eventually Kuroo relented and went to Yamaku.

PERSONALITY:

Kuroo generally comes across as cold to most people. He generally doesn't show emotion unless he feels that certain emotion strongly. Some consider him introverted, however this is not the case and he just acts like one. Whenever he talks about something that has to do with computers he becomes very passionate about his work in programming.

Despite his reputation for being cold there was a time he was actually a rebellious, kind and sociable boy. However this all changed when his parents divorced and he and his brother were separated from each other (as his brother was his best friend). Though soon after he became this way he started to want to change his personality to a more sociable one.

He has been hacking using the alias "Black Jack" for years, and as a hacker he has a reputation for being a genius that made significant improvements to computer security. However he took major steps to keep his anonymity secure and because of this people think that the boy Shiratori Kuroo and the hacker Black Jack are two different people rather than the same person. He did this from the fear of being prosecuted as a criminal, and normally hacks when he has absolutely nothing else to do or on the rare occasion that he wants to sharpen or maintain his skill. He still clings to hacking as it is what he considers the last way to relate to his brother whom he hasn't seen since his parents divorced.

When Kuroo does hack for reasons other than the other two previously mentioned, he is hacking for the sole purpose of letting people know how they were hacked and how they can prevent future hacks using the same methods. However because he uses illegal means to do this he is considered a Grey-Hat hacker (a hacker that acts illegally though with good will).

He got his hacker alias from his first name Kuroo (黒男). This is because in English Kuro (黒) means black and Jack is a boy's name and the second kanji in his first name (男) is the Japanese kanji for boy, hence the name Black Jack.

I will abstain on just two points here. The first of which is the need for you to get a profile image that corrolates to his listed appearance as closely as possible. The second being I would like an idea of his tangible intellectual ability stipulating that he is a sort of prodigy or savant as otherwise I find it a tad strange to be installing much less creating Linux distributions so early in life. An alternative is to change the age a slight more upward in relation to that occurrence. I must applaud you however on managing a very ready profile on the first attempt.

I actually did the profile image soon after I posted this app, so that's done. As for the age for the linux distro thing, yeah I was wondering the same thing. I just wanted to get someone else's opinion on it. Thanks for letting me know about what you think, I've upped the age a bit. If you still don't think it'll work, let me know and I'll just change it again.

Overall, a good application. But I do have some reservations about the whole "elite hacker by 10" detail. I get that he spent A LOT of time but... 10? I find it a little hard to believe. Other than that it's good; aside from the lack of profile picture.
