[Open] A respite from cheer. Empty [Open] A respite from cheer.

Post by Kara Rifkin Fri Nov 29, 2013 6:57 am

Being quite confident her day would be slow, as it usually is on weekends, Kara decided to take the time to work on her latest idea. Accompanied by a very familiar notebook, a foreign pencil, and the dusty air, she sat down and began to think of how to start the story. After a good half an hour or so of staring at a blank page, she finally accrued enough steam to burst forward.

Confused and lost in the chaos of a city where everyone knows where they are going but never knows where they are, a young woman, comfortable within the forests of her own land, finds herself miles from it. The white noise of the crowd is broken when a clear male voice of her own accent abruptly starts speaking from behind her.
"Keep on your straight, anything that stops moving here is forgotten."
She listens out of instinct, but only temporarily until she questions it and looks back to see only the river of people rush by her as she stops for only a moment -- long enough for a large man to blunder right into her knocking her over onto the damp cobblestone street.

However, her stride is broken as she becomes startled from the doors of the library opening unexpectedly, revealing two students who she is already quite familiar with.

As Mizo approached the front desk where the librarian sat he took a stack of about 4 books out of his bag
"Good Morning." he said to her as he sat the stack on the counter to return them.

Kara set her notebook, with about a fourth of a page filled with english text, down on the counter and began cataloging the books whilst carrying on the conversation.
"Goodmorning. Did you enjoy the books?"

Chiharu lets out a short chuckle at the notion of a 'good'morning as she makes her way to the back corner of the library with the beanbags. The very comfy, easy to fall asleep in, beanbags.

"They were ok, well those two on top at least. The one on the bottom was really good, the other one was rather...meh." he said in reply then added a follow up question
"I was wondering if any new Biographies, Sci Fi Novels, or Mysteries have come in?"

"Really, just couple days ago we got donation of whole series of mystery books. Inspired by 'Remmington Steele'. If they are good as the old show, they will not disappoint."
She finishes marking all the books as returned, before turning towards Mizo with a warm smile as she asks, "I can show you where. Would you like that?"

Kara leads Mizo towards one of the corners of the library, which happens to be the same as the one Chiharu had decided to nestle herself in. She let out a short chuckle at the seemingly sleeping girl before turning towards a shelf and going down the line slowly until finding the book she was looking for. In celebration of successfully tracking down her quarry, she let out a smile and said, "Here they are."

"Thank you very much." he said as he then turned to browse through the section of new books. He'd noticed that Chiharu had apparently fallen asleep in one of the bean bags. He thought about saying something to the Librarian but decided against it as he figured he might wake her up, and she had looked rather tired. After looking through some of the books he picked out 4 that looked good and quietly said to the Librarian
"I think these'll do, I'm gonna finish the one I have started now though before I check out."
and took a seat in one of the bean bag chairs and began to read.
