A moonlit clearing Empty A moonlit clearing

Post by Satoshi Veach Sun Apr 28, 2013 3:32 am

*Snap*

...

*Whistle-thap!*

A small blade strikes a tree on the line around a clearing in the forest.

The clearing designated for Chris and myself.

It is dark out. Nothing but a full moon lights the ground around me.

I have not come to this place at this time of night ever since the incident with Sumiko and myself while escorting her home.

It is a feat of little value but I guess it can be considered sigificant.

*Snap*

I pull out another knife...

"Hm!"

And throw it. Nearly hitting the last one that I threw.

Heh, I seem to be getting better at this.

Exploring the woods on one of his late-night adventures, Hawke emerges into a clearing and almost makes a mess in his underwear when a knife embeds itself in the tree next to him.

"JESUS CHRIST ON A BICYCLE!" He yells, while curling into a ball on the floor and flinging his arms over his head.

"Hey you alright there?"

That voice.

"Didn't mean to scare you, man!"

*E* "Just about. What're you doing out here trying to kill people?"

Hawke takes a few tentative steps into the clearing and surveys the area for more assassins.

And just then another of my kunai wizzes passed him into the tree I threw the others in.

Tiberius has always been someone whom I've never really cared if he found out about my knives or not.

*"Whassamatteh? Do I fluster you?"

I give a good chuckle.

*Snap*

*"Cook and I always come out'ere to unwind. For me it's these."

*"No worries, though, I've always had a good control o' these.

I flip the one I unsheathed by the blade to the handle.

*"Lately even better."

*Whistle-thap!*

Hawke shakes his head in amazement, "Mr Veach, you are insane."

Hawke walks to Satoshi's side and asks, "Can I try?"

"Hm, you'd understand if you were in my shoes with these."

'Can I try?'

I give a nod and take out 3 out of the 8 I have left. Not really counting or anything-just choosing that amount because that's the most I'm able to pull out at a time without struggling.

*s-s-snap*

I take the bladed ends in my other hand and offer them to Hawke. Afterwards, pointing in the direction of a larger tree.

"Aim for that one right there."

On the tree's bark is carved 'Worry Tree.' Many little slits from previous hits litter around the word.

Enough to be a clear sign that I have done this for way more than just today. It has little cluster lines on each side of the vertical letters, suggesting I made some sort of challenge out of it after I became more adept at it.

"Oh, just a heads up. You might impact with the handle."

I personally never knew why but some people throw knives and have them impact that way, while I always seem to get it right.

I don't know if there is some sort of luck. Maybe unexplicable technique to it or what, but I seem to have it quite down if there is.

The leave rustle beneath Sumiko's feet as she walks in the forest
W-where am I? She thinks to her self. Lost with only the moonlit guiding her she hears a few thumps and a voice close by but not close enough to catch what that person said.
She quickly hides behind a tree: scared. She waits patiently and listens to see what happens.'Can I try'
Who i-is talking...?

Hawke takes a kunai from Veach, and stands with his legs spread apart, side on to the tree.

One...

Hawke slowly breathes in, and closes his eyes..

Two...

He lets out his breath, long and slow...

Three!

He flings the kunai at the tree, and surprisingly hits the tree dead-centre, right on the stem of the T in tree.

"Heh, not too shabby."

[You thinkin' what I'm thinkin'?..Besides the fact that I can't get a better quality video? X)]
