Campfires And Food And Music-Oh My! (open to anyone)

"I hope people checked Deadbook and decided to come. Could be a good time."

I'm mumbling to myself in English.

Down the stairs, through the boy's dorm lobby, and out the doors I go. Arms struggling to carry the necessities and luxuries for a bonfire.

In the middle of the two areas set aside for boy's and girl's dorms sits an area used in the past for such occasions.

Setting my stuff down I look over what I brought to make sure I didn't forget anything.

A few buckets with wooden stakes glued on the inside pointing down so they can be set up like an acoustic drum set along with my set of drum sticks and a stool for them.

My cajon drum for any occasion like this.

The dry wood we'll use I already gathered from the forest is sitting next to the fire pit.

Matches.

Old newspapers to use as kindling.

Supplies for cooking snacks.

And of course the stockpile of snacks themselves.

It's fairly early but late enough to get ready. It's about an hour before sunset so the early guests should start coming soon. I myself would go a little later than now if I wasn't the host of it but y'know, people have different preferences.

Speaking of which, I see someone coming over now. Are they here for it?

Do you require assitance with your bundle there, Satoshi?

"I could use some help setting up that snack table over there to put the noms on. The other stuff can really just go anywhere other than these."

I gesture toward the buckets in my hand.

After taking them apart I stick them into the ground in an orderly way. Putting the different sizes to their positions resembling a drum set.

"Come here for the fire?"

(Christopher removes the bucket from Satoshi's hand and continues talking.) Well, I did hear from Takahashi that we can expect a full moon tonight. The moon might... Help compliment tonight's romantic atmosphere. By the way, what do you want me to do with this bucket?

"Heh, that should be great. If someone with a guitar shows up maybe someone will sing a more romantic song too."

"And this goes..."

I take the last bucket from Cook and stick it in the ground next to us with all of the other's.

"...Right here."

Anything else?

"Not really. Do you plan on staying for the fire or did you already have plans?"

Yuuji casually walks to the place where Satoshi mentioned and sees him close by. "Yo Satoshi. Am I a bit early?"

"What's up, Yuuji? I don't know, I came here early to prepare for the ones who would come early so, technically speaking, I don't think so."

Though It is nearly sunset now.

I start to put the firewood and kindling in the pit and get it ready.

"Need any help with anything?"

"Yeah, could you hand me that box of matches over there?"

I point in it's general direction.

"Yea sure be right back" Yuuji looks around for the matches. after a while of being stumped and not finding them he finally gets them and returns
"Here you go."

"Thanks, bro."

I take a match, light it, and put it under a particularly large clump of newspaper.

"That does not look safe..."

"It's necissary for starting up a fire. I don't do it often but I've done enough to know how to start it up safely."

I light multiple areas by the wood and just before the match is able to touch my thumb I toss it in the middle.

I sit down in a chair with my ankle on the other leg and watch the fire grow to average size while tapping a beat on the cajon drum.

Yuuji pulls up a chair " and now we wait..."

Asterick walks over. "AAYYEEEEEEEE", he puts his hands up and walks over, "Glad to see that people attended this thing", he smiles and sits on the ground.

(Christopher, wanting to take advantage of the fire, pulls out a packet of raw vension, skewers the meat with a nearby stick and roasts the meat over the fire. Christopher then smells the night air coupled with the poignant smell of rich meat cooking.) Reminds me of the rockies back in the states.

"Asterick! you took your sweet time..."

Dude, did he just pull out raw venison?

Well, it's a little unusual to have food like that when you would have to get it sent here but I don't blame him. If I had an opportunity to get venison, I probably wouldn't mind paying shipping costs for how good it tastes.

"Time to pay respects to my dearly departed grandpuppah..."

I grab a marshmallow and get a chocolate bar ready for a smore.

"...by going strait to the deserts as he would want to!"

"I tell ya, any time you want to hit the desert table in any occasion, that's probably a fun way to do it. Man, I got to put that on my bucket list or something."

I write on an imaginary paper in the air with an imaginary pen.

"Go to a formal event that isn't a wedding or funeral and start with deserts. Anybody asks, claim you're honoring the memory of your grandpa and look depressed while you do."

I chuckle a little while thinking of what the person's reaction would be.

"What's up, Asterick?"

(Christopher removes the finely roasted vension and eats the entirety of the meat in two large bites, he then makes a complintary gesture with one of his fingers and one of his thumbs.) Exquisite. So, fellas, how's life?

"A lot better then our last encounter at the park my friend." Yuuji gives a sluggish smile

Tell me, Takahashi, how long have you known Nagisa?

Yuuji thinks for a moment before answering "about a week now maybe more I'm not so good at keeping time.why do you ask?"
