[Private] Awkward Conversation: The Red Sea
I pick up the list from the nurses' desk, looking at the patients I had for the day. Volunteering for clinical appointments may have not been the best thing to do, today. Ah well. Feels good to get a break from the burn unit. I look at the first name on the list and call out the name. "Andrea Wilson?"
Re: [Private] Awkward Conversation: The Red Sea
Upon hearing her name, Andrea stands up and walks over to the door of the examination room, then opens it and walks in. 'Hey!' she smiles and waves at the doctor waiting inside, then walks in and sits down on the chair in front of her. 'Sorry for coming in on such short notice!'

"Perfectly all right, Miss Wilson." I close the door of the room and walk over to the chair near the computer. I sit down, placing your file on the desk and turn the chair toward you. "Now, what brought you into my office today?"
Re: [Private] Awkward Conversation: The Red Sea
'W-well, it is a little embarrassing, but...' Andrea laughs and turns away before suddenly noticing something odd. "Wait a second..." she says and looks back at the doctor. 'Your scars... It can't be... You're Eos, aren't you?' the girl asks with a huge smile.

I look at you curiously as your face begins to come into recognition. "Yes...I...am. You're...there's no way. Andrea? Little Andrea? Pool's daughter?"
Re: [Private] Awkward Conversation: The Red Sea
'Wow, so you remember! I'm so glad!' she laughs cheerfully. 'It's been so long! How have you been?'

Re: [Private] Awkward Conversation: The Red Sea
"Fifteen long years. You've really grown up. I've been well. I've been helping with running this place for a few years, now. What's been going on with you? You left so suddenly."
Re: [Private] Awkward Conversation: The Red Sea
'Well, it wasn't like I wanted to leave... Dad was just dead-set on going back to Canada, and I followed him. He had a very good reason, of course, but still... If there was a way for us to stay, we would have' Andrea explains and looks out the window. 'He really misses this place, you know'

Re: [Private] Awkward Conversation: The Red Sea
I look at you with slight sadness. "And I miss him. I miss him a lot. I'm sorry for whatever happened to make you two have to up and leave. I had hoped to one day see you both again, but I at least get to see you. And...what a way to meet up again." I laugh a little at a memory from years before.
Re: [Private] Awkward Conversation: The Red Sea
Andrea turns her eyes back to Eos, slightly confused. 'Why are you sorry? The reason we had to move was because my little brother was born!' she laughs. 'We had to go back in order to help his mom take care of him. And... I might be able to convince dad to come visit us sometime, but I'm not sure when he'll have the time. After buying Facebook a few years back, he's been busier than ever!'

Re: [Private] Awkward Conversation: The Red Sea
"If you mean Wade, I've already had the..." I pause a little. "...pleasure, of meeting him. He's just like his father." I shake my head and laugh. "Just like him. Well, I'm glad that what took you two away wasn't something bad. You know, I laugh every time I log into Deadboook, knowing the guy who bought the whole thing."
Re: [Private] Awkward Conversation: The Red Sea
'Yeah, Wade's been living here for a little while! That's one of the reasons I moved back! I can't leave my baby brother all alone now, can I?' Andrea laughs. 'I know he might be a bit... hard to deal with at times, but please give him a chance! He's a really good person inside, you have my word! Just... Don't compare him to dad in front of him. He, uhm... Doesn't like that'

Re: [Private] Awkward Conversation: The Red Sea
"I noticed that I hit a nerve when I mentioned to him that he looked like his father. But, I'm all about giving chances. I mean when your father and I first met, he held a gun to my head. Granted it was fake but I still smacked him for it. The point is, you're Poodle-san's children so that makes me your Godmother. Come to me about anything." I smile at you before a light bulb suddenly goes off in my head. "How about we go out for lunch? The three of us? We've got a lot of catching up to do."
Re: [Private] Awkward Conversation: The Red Sea
'A lunch? That sounds like a great idea! I'll talk with him and see what we can arrange!' Andrea smiles before suddenly remembering something. 'Oh yeah... I suppose that I should tell you why I'm here... Even though it's kind of embarrassing...' she says and laughs nervously.

Re: [Private] Awkward Conversation: The Red Sea
"Well, nothing that I hear in this place is ever too embarrassing. I'm not caught off guard, anymore. So go ahead and tell me the reason." I smile.
Re: [Private] Awkward Conversation: The Red Sea
'Y-yeah, I suppose I should, now that I'm here and all. It's, uhm...' Andrea goes a bit red in the face. 'My period. It's been late by more than a month. That has never happened before, so I got a little worried... I'm not quite sure how the hospital here works, but I was hoping you could recommend me a good gynecologist or something'

Re: [Private] Awkward Conversation: The Red Sea
"Oh dear. Well, these things do happen. Don't worry about it too much. Hormones change and make your body go crazy. I can recommend you to a great gynecologist. I do have to ask, are you being safe?"
Re: [Private] Awkward Conversation: The Red Sea
'Safe? Oh...' she looks down, feeling a bit guilty. 'I suppose I should be, but I didn't really have the opportunity. My boyfriend's kinda the spontaneous type... Though I really shouldn't be making excuses. I'll make sure to--' Suddenly, Andrea stops dead in her tracks. 'W-wait... You don't think I'm pregnant or something, do you?'

Re: [Private] Awkward Conversation: The Red Sea
"Well, I cannot deny the possibility of it, Andrea. I think it is best that you start being safe, from now on. You're a strong girl so even if your boyfriend is spontaneous, you keep a condom on you at all times. I can't believe I'm having this talk with you again, 15 years later." I laugh a little bit as I turn to face the computer, searching the list of available gynecologist within the area.
Re: [Private] Awkward Conversation: The Red Sea
"I... I see..." Andrea responds, noticeably worried. A pregnancy right after coming back to Japan was certainly not something she was prepared for. "Yeah, it's pretty ironic, isn't it?" she forces a smile after hearing Eos' comment. "Oh, by the way... I know it's kinda selfish of me to ask, but... Would it be possible to recommend me to a female gynecologist?"

Re: [Private] Awkward Conversation: The Red Sea
"Not selfish at all. I can understand wanting a female." I pull up a small list until I find the name of a good one. I type up the referral and send it to the front desk for printing. "All right. I've printed up your referral. Walk with me to the front and I'll sign it for you. Aside from that, is there any other concerns that you have?"
Re: [Private] Awkward Conversation: The Red Sea
"Huh?" Andrea suddenly looks up, as if startled by something. "Oh, uhm... Sure" she forces another smile, then stands up and starts walking to the front desk next to Eos. "I don't think so... At least for now..." she responds quietly to her friend's question, obviously a bit concerned.

Re: [Private] Awkward Conversation: The Red Sea
I notice your demeanor has changed to a more quiet form. Slightly worried, I begin to speak again as we reach the front. "You know, you can always reach me if you really need me for anything, Andrea. The cell number is still the same."
Re: [Private] Awkward Conversation: The Red Sea
"Okay... I'll keep that in mind..." Andrea speaks quietly as she picks up the printed referral, then gives it a look to familiarize herself with it before folding it and putting it in her pocket. "Thanks, Eos"

Re: [Private] Awkward Conversation: The Red Sea
"Anytime, Andrea." I smile at you before gently placing my hand onto your shoulder. "Don't forget lunch. I'll see you soon. I still have patients to see." I turn to walk away before turning back, giving you a small wave.
