Drunken Satoshi Chronicles: Episode One

The park.

Earlier I had drank sake with the guys and my total alcohol consumption had reached about 8-9 beers.

I may not be hammered right now but I am, indeed, drunk.

I don't know why but I had a thirst to go outside. Luckily, my thinker side at least gave me reasoning and made me think of quiet places to go.

That is why I came here.

I had originally thought about going to the forest to play a game of Satoshi's Kunai Drunken Darts Game From Hell but decided against it with how many things that could go wrong and how likely I would lose a knife or two.

Instead, I just chose the park for it's calm atmospheric scenery and low human traffic.

"A-ah...damn.."

Even when drunk, my adamant personality keeps it's presence since I generally have nothing to hide personality-wise and I've always dwarfed anyone else's talent in keeping secrets.

However, when I become intoxicated, my incredible amount of trust becomes unchained due to the present lack of restraint and good situation judgement.

This means that it is easy to bypass my mental security wall by simply asking anything about my secrets nicely and I am quite vulnerable to anyone who would like to know anything about me.

It is my only drunken flaw unless you count the heightened personality traits.

I walk on the path through the park. Making sure to dodge eye contact from people passing by out of embarrassment for my drunken state of mind. Doing my best to act natural.

I wonder if Takahashi is alright on that errand he went on...

I probably should have accompanied him. Make sure he's alright.

My train of thought is soon popped after that by a familiar figure.

Sumiko strolls the park with a book in hand. Its The Tempest by Shakespeare. She looks up and sees Veach walking closer to her
"Veach-san!"

Awwww, if I had known she would come talk to me anyway, I would of done something to mess with her!

Bummer, dude.

"Heh-heeyyy, Nakagawa."

My voice is much more cheery and a little quieter than usual.

My head is also tilted to the right side like one who is confused would do instead of back and slightly to the side like normal.

My eyes shut in relaxed joy.

"Heh-eh, what are you doing here?"

"Oh I-I just came here to read and get some fresh air." She waves her book in the air a bit
"What about you?" She tilts her head curious

(Chris, accompanied by his sister, is carrying the bulk of the goods they purchased at the mall. The two lay out several quilts on a patch of grass, and Chris sets multiple bags on the quilts. Before digging into the bags, Chris spots Sumiko and Satoshi from afar and decides to attract their attention.) Hey, fellas!

Sumiko hears a familiar voice She looks around seeing Chris and Rachel sitting on the grass
"Senpai! Rachel-chan!"
She waves her hand tell them to come over

"...Uuh-de-uuh..Yeah-me too. I came for the open air."

Ah, dammit-Cook, increasing the girl amount here when I'm not in any way in a position to be a gentleman.

"Heh-hey~!"

I blink a bit. Trying to adjust to the sunlight as my head lifts up a little.

I avert my eyes from Rachel's and Sumiko's. Feeling like nothing but a worthless punk for my mental state.

{What's up with Satoshi?} (Chris addresses Sumiko.) Sorry, sweetie, but me and my sister are setting up for the upcoming party.

{All that's left is the food that I tasked Yuuji with procuring.} (Rachel is busy removing various party supplies from each bag. She occasionally stops what she's doing to wave at Sumiko and a retreating Satoshi.)

"It's okay Senpai."
Sumiko gives him a quick hug
"I'll be seeing you at the party."

(Chris strokes and kisses the top of Sumiko's head.) What do you have going on today, sweetie?

'Not much just bump into Veach-san and read."
She slightly waves the book she is holding

(Chris takes note of the book Sumiko is holding. A novel by William Shakespeare.) Could you tell me a little bit about "The Tempest", Sumiko-chan?

"T-this is actually my first time reading this book. From when I have read is that there is a ship In a storm. The book also introduced a few characters but I don't know their names yet..."
She looks at Veach
"Veach-san have you read this book before?"

At that moment I was hardly listening.

The trees just looked so funny and wavy to me with the intoxication in effect.

"H-huh?"

With a smile I speak.

"The Tempist?"

I try to remember.

"No, I-"

*Rumble*

"uh, heheh..pardon me.."

My stomach made one of those noises that aren't from hunger but are just random whale sound.

"No, I read some Shakespeare but not The Tempist."

Damn, man, why am I so happy to see everyone even though I'm in such a bad state?

"What Shakespeare novels have you read then?"

I think back. Trying to remember even with my heavily distracted train of thought.

"Of course, Romeo and Juliet.."

"The Hamlet and Macbeth."

"Generally...generally the more popular works."

I begin to walk again. Trying my best not to stumble or anything.

"V-veach-san where are you going?"

"I-.."

I look back. To be honest, I don't even know.

"..don't even kn-"

I stumble a little but catch myself.

"Whoa, are you guys okay there? I coulda swore the ground just shook or something..."

My speech is totally mellow.

Not just my normal very mellow speech. This time I am a little less responsive.

Other than that, there shouldn't be too noticable of a change.

"T-the ground didn't shake..."
She looks at Veach worried
"Veach-san are you okay?"

'Veach-san, are you o-'

"-I'm fine, I'm fine..heheheh."

I come back to my senses a little.

Dammit, get a hold of yourself-you're scaring them!

"My bad."

Sumiko is not convinced but takes his word for it
"Maybe we should head back to school..."

(An idea pops into Chris' head, and he voices it to Rachel.) Hey, sis, what's your prognosis for what's wrong with Satoshi over there?

(Rachel takes one look at Satoshi's sluggish body and whispers her verdict on his condition to Chris.) He's drunk, brother.

"Drunk?"
Veach-san has been drinking...
"We should get him back to his room..."
