[Open] Midnight Snack

As the cab pulls up to the curb, Hawke opens the door and steps out, holding it open for his two companions.

Surprisingly, the city is still busy at nearly two o clock in the morning, and a few people mill around, drifting from one shop to another on their quest to finding retail salvation.

"We haven't got all day!" He says to the other two, "Well... all night." He adds with a grin.

Itsuki got out of the cab. "Well then lead the way."

Chiharu remains silent as she follows the two boys down the sidewalk. Her attention primarily on the buildings around them.

Closing the door behind Chiharu and pays the cab driver. He hurries and joins the other two.

"So... pizza?" He says, smiling towards the other two.

Her gaze still fixed on the invisible horizon, Chiharu responds with a flat tone, "I guess."

"Well that is why we're here," replied Itsuki.

"Let's go then." Hawke replies, leading the pair towards his favorite place, a little restaurant called, stereotypically, "Luigi's".

The waiter shows them to a small 4-seater table in a quiet corner near the back, and Hawke sits, waiting for the other two to join him.

Itsuki sat across from Hawke. "This seems like a nice little place."

Chiharu continues to remain silent as she circles the table and sits with her back facing the wall.

Itsuki noticed Chiharu's silence. "Are you okay, Kappa?"

"Yeah, Kappa, everything all gravy?" Hawke says with a smirk.

Seriously... I need to know the story behind "Kappa"...

Taken slightly aback by the questions, chiharu's eyes dart back and forth before focusing on Itsuki as she responds with a slow, "Yeah..."
At which point she furrows her brow and moves her head forward about an inch as she asks, "Are, You okay?"

<Gravy!?!?>

"I'm fine," replied Itsuki, "What about you Hawke?"

"I'm fine, thanks. Itsuki." Hawke says, slightly confused as to why everyone was clarifying their state of mind.

"What's everyone getting?" He asks, picking up the menu and leaning back in his chair.

Without even touching the menu, Chiharu addresses the two with a proposition.
"How about a medium hand tossed with mushrooms and sausage?"

"Sounds goof to me," replied Itsuki, "What about you Hawke?"

He nods in agreement, "Sounds good to me."

He calls over a waiter and orders their food, as well as some chips to keep them tiding over until the main course arrives. Before the waiter leaves, Hawke turns to the others, "Drinks?"

"Just water for me thanks," said Itsuki.

Chiharu lifts a finger into the air and says, "Same here."

"Two waters and a diet coke, please." Hawke says to the waiter, who then leaves the trio alone.

Without saying much to the other two, Hawke begins to play with the salt grinder, passing it from hand to hand across the table.

Chiharu looks curiously at Hawke's hands and his insistence on sliding the salt around.
"Is the salt not mixed enough for you?"

"Not at all." He says abruptly, giving the salt mixer another shake to prove his point, "You know what they say, nothing better than an impeccably mixed batch of salt."

His face remains composed for a few seconds, then his face breaks into a smirk, "At least, they probably say that. Somewhere."

"Heh, Probably the same people who throw it over their shoulders for good luck."

"I've never been a big believer in superstitions," commented Itsuki, "They always seemed weird to me."

"Do you know what else is weird? Time zones." Hawke says in an amused tone, and places the salt shaker on the table.
