(Private) Band Step One: Human Resources

Asterick gives a big laugh as he watches the two get so into this, "Hell yeah I do, a lot of that old rock shit is sampled for hip-hop songs so I knownit pretty well after hearing it as the drum beat for a few of my favourites",

He puts his bag on the table and stands full posture, "Ready when you guys are!".

Hawke counts them in, and begins the song with a slow scale up through several octaves, getting steadily faster and faster, until he reaches the right area of the neck of the bass where the song took place. He began playing the bass line he played earlier.

I play a line that's a little faster than my previous run. I'm much more used to the changes we've made in the song.

Repeating a couple times before speaking. Pausing often because I'm playing and speaking.

"Alright....Bear, man...you and me, boy...we got to put something up nice for Asterick-I-I mean Mr. ..Ray Charles over there...Y-you think we could do that?"

"You know the drill, man...so let's go do it...Hey, Ray-man...you get ready now...I expect you to...to follow us well!"

Right on que we start.

I think to myself, 'Hit it, bredduh!'

Why does he keep calling me bear?

"Veachy, where'd ya get the name bear?" He calls over the music.

From Ti-ber-ius. I've always been the type to hand out nicknames to people!

Asterick starts the first lines;

You're the meanest old woman that I've ever seen.
I guess if you said so
I'd have to pack my things and go. (That's right!!)

He laughs at the two of them a little as the chorus comes.

Damn, I didn't know so many people around here liked this song-let alone know it.

My brothers thought it was a bad song but I'm definitely getting along here!

"THAT'S RIGHT!-Hit the ro-oad, Jack,..."

Hawke and I continue on with the chorus. The part where Asterick says 'Wha'chou SAAYYY?!' the second time and more loudly I do a quick little half solo (A GF-Eb-GA A Gf-Eb) before continuing on with just my normal music and singing.

"And don't ya come back no more!"

This is even better with more people. I hope Yuri-chan wants in on this.

Asterick picks up the next verse, but adds his own unique flow and play on the words,

"Nice one *e*mon brah!' Hawke calls over the music.

"Heyheyhey-I got this part!"

We continue on to the part just before the end where I proceed to make my own lyrics.

"Well?"

"Aw come on, baby-don't be like that!"

"You ain't leaving this beautiful face!"

"Hey-I TOLD you-I didn't MEAN to trap both of' that girl's boobs!"

"...even if they were kind of nice..."

"Can't we discuss this over some coffee?"

My solo from earlier comes out of the piano and I finish right with the last 'donchya come back no more.'

Afterward Asterick gives a smooth 'yeaaayeeeaaah' while I walk up the instrument with my fingers.

*E* "Siiiiick, bredduh!"

Hawke waa grinning from ear to ear:
"That was awesome guys!"

"Hell yeah!", he gives both of them a high five and smiles, then sighs a sigh of happiness, I've never felt so alive before,.

Asterick was happy, and it was showing by the expression on his lit face.

I glance at my watch.

Should get going soon.

Then I am reminded of something suddenly I've been meaning to ask Asterick about.

Maybe I'll announce the time after a little fun.

"Hey Asterick, man. Anything going on with Megumi lately?"

"No idea, man. Think she went dark, I'll see if she's by her room tomorrow though", he laughs a little, "I just finished my mixtape so now I got a lot more freetime!", he outs his arms up to stretch and half sits on the table, "God damn, man. Today's been some day. What about you, Veach? Weren't you chillin' with that Sayuri girl for a little?".
