[Open] Old Habits

I used to stay in this room for my lunch often.

Why did I stop? What reason did I have?

I don't even know.

The Back corner on the side of the door is where I am. Back to the old spot, I suppose.

December 7th. It's almost time for graduation.

Has it really almost been a full school year since I arrived here at Yamaku? 

I still feel as if I'm new here even though I don't feel like I just got here.

...If that makes any sense. It does to me.

A small cup of tea accompanies my thoughts. Nothing else sits by me, for once.

All that is with me is a colorful bubble of diverse thought.

Proceeding to the Tea Room for some quiet studying, or maybe reading, or maybe both, he wasn't completely sure yet.
As he entered with his bag heavy with books and papers he didn't really expect anyone else to be in there as it was just about always empty. Today however someone else was in the Tea Room. Having been surprised by this someone else Mizo was startled, and a little embarrassed as he'd been humming a song that had been stuck in his head.
"OH!...Sorry...I uhh...I didn't know someone else was here already, I can leave if you want."
He said a little nervously.

Dragons are reptiles with bat wings, which are mammals-I wonder what would happen if a horse and a narwhal got together-pirate ships are okay-humming-I wonder if-

-Humming?

*Pop!*

I look over to the door as my continuous chain of thought is interrupted to see a student just opening the door.

The song I do not recognize but the boy I do.

...Did I ever get his name?

Oh well. If I got it, I probably wouldn't remember it anyway.

The boy stammers. Likely a cross result of the reason he is here and his personality.

"The room is for public use. One more person shouldn't disturb anything meant to not be disturbed."

"Alright then, as long as you don't mind." he replied.
Taking a seat he added
"I wasn't sure as I'd heard of people coming here to get away from every one else."
and with that Mizo set his bag on the table and pulled out a some papers and a composition book labeled History in neatly written large black letters and a small silver thermos. After he'd been working on his homework for around three min he started to absentmindedly hum the same song he'd been humming when he came in.

"From time-to-time, there are little tea parties."

"Seems a little girly to me to have a tea party but that doesn't deter a group or two."

"Heard it's been going on for like, ever now."

I close my eyes and take a sip of my tea.

When his humming starts again, I quietly hum a harmony for the kid's tune.

Doesn't really sound like my taste but it's entertainment for me.

With out realizing it Mizo started to hum a mix of the song he'd been humming and the new melody that had permeated the room.
"Wait...that's not how it goes." he thought to him self. It was at that moment he realized two things 1) He'd been absentmindedly humming and 2) He'd done so right over top of someone else (Or so he thought)
"Sorry, I didn't mean to hum over top of you...or to hum for that matter really. I've just sorta got this song stuck in my head and it's stuck on repeat to boot."
He stared at his paper with a look that said he wished for some thing to go away before allowing his head to slump down to the table's surface with a gentle yet firm *THUMP!*
While still having his nose pressed against his homework he said
"That's what I get for listening to some weird British music from the 1980's!"
Then lifting his head up from the paper with a look of realization he added
"I've seen you around a few times...but I don't think I've ever caught your name...no wait I think I do know it's...never mind, I'm drawing a blank. I'm Takameshi, Mizo." he said as he extended his hand.

"You hummed first. I harmonized."

It's the usual cool in my voice as I speak.

Just before the impact of his head on the table, I lift my cup with just as much suave as my voice contains and set it back down as to not let it spill.

"Veach, Satoshi. Senior class."

"I've always been unable to resist joining anything musical as it comes around whether asked or not. Guess it's a percussionist thing."

"I'm in Junior class, so I suppose I should be calling you Veach-san? or would you rather me not? Either way, it's nice to meet you."
he said as he poured himself some of what ever was in his silver thermos. The liquid was a purplish red color and smelled faintly of hibiscus, rose, and something else that remained a mystery. After he'd filled the cup that also served as a second lid to his thermos he took a sip from the cup and then gingerly set the cup down on the table.
"So...ummm...If you don't mind me asking...how long have you been at Yamaku?"

Hawke wanders through the corridors, oblivious to anything and everything around him. He has one thing on his mind and one thing only: caffeine. The day had started well enough, until he realised he had no coke in his bag. No coke meant no caffeine. And no caffeine meant a very grumpy Hawke, as Shisen-sensei had found out when she tried to rectify one of the many mistakes he made in art class.

The door to the tea room didn't stand a chance; Hawke's shoulder threw it open with the force of a charging elephant, and his ensuing grunt of displeasure reverbarated around the small room.

"I think it's just a musician thing." He says to Satoshi, still with a look that could kill on his face.

With a jump all of Mizo's attention was now on the the door that had suddenly burst open.
"I think it's just a musician thing." Hawke said with look on his face that could knock holes in the wall.
"uhh...Hi there Hawke. Would you care for some tea?" Mizo asked uneasily, as he offered up his silver thermos of tea.

My body does not stir an inch from it's spot even as the door comes crashing open.

The odd excuse he gives makes me feel like a pauper taking a trip to the nice side of town.

"...I think that's more of 'a breaching charge thing' than 'a musician thing.'"

Seeing as I've never even broken through a door.

I prefer picking to grenading. 

'Would you care for some tea?'

"The squirrel offering the hungry bear his food."

I speak in a normal voice but don't expect to be heard since that's exactly what it looks like from my perspective.

This kid will probably be devoured by the, obviously territorial, English Brown Tibearius.

Not completely hearing what Satoshi had said Mizo turned and said
"Huh? The what? I didn't quite catch that."
While still holding the thermos in an offering manner towards Hawke.

"Tea would be good." Hawke grumbles, and takes a seat next to Satoshi. "I ain't no fuggin' bear, 'Toshi.." He growls under his breath.

"Indeed."

My smirk flashes across my lips.

I fetch Tiberius a cup for Mizo to pour in the tea he offered.

"Here, man. Drink up."

Removing the lid, Mizo started to fill the cup that had been placed in front of Hawke. As he did so he said
"This is one of my favorites, it's a really tasty herbal blend."
Upon filling the cup Mizo replaced the cap on the top of his thermos and placed it back on the table.

Hawke watches Mizo fill the cup up with the purple liquid and begins to be consumed by a feeling of dread.

Poncy tea. Oh god.

One of Hawke's pet hates was the ridiculous brands of tea; chai, fruit, mint, everything. What the hell was everybpdy's aversion to a simple cup of builder's tea? The rigorous upbringing of an English gentleman leaves no room for extravagance in a tea break.

"T-thanks." He grunts, not letting his face betray his revultion. Taking a swig of the tea, he does all he can to not spit it out. "Great." He says with a smile.

I don't need to look at your eyes to tell that that's a lie.

I smirk my smirk to myself. It's just a funny situation.

Vocally isn't really that bad of an actor at all. I should ask him about the drama club some time.

I'm not looking at his face but I assume it shows fine. I could be right, I could be wrong, I don't know.

"So...Takamachi?-"

That is your name, correct? I better not have gotten it wrong so early after being told it.

"What were you asking me about again?"

Even though he claimed it was good, Mizo got the faint impression that Hawke didn't care for the tea.
"It's alright, if you don't like it you don't have to drink it."

People got his name wrong more than he liked to admit, but by now he'd gotten used to it by now.
"I...uhhhh...I guess I forgot what it was. It's Takameshi, it's ok though most people get it wrong the first few tries." he replied

[Pretty sure I said that his expression wouldn't give away that he hated it, but whatever.]

"Takamesty?" Hawke asks in an innocent tone, "Strange name."

"Takameshi."

My attention shifts back to the boy in front of me.

"And thanks, I'm not the brightest with remembering names."

[I typed without looking at your name with that last message. The C was a typo but the A actually was a real mistake.]

"That's alright, I'm not that great with remembering much of anything, at least not since..." Mizo stopped him self mid-sentence, the whole thing still kind of bothered him sometimes.

"It's not mesty it's meshi, Takameshi. Sure it may be strange, but Hawke is just as strange, if not stranger, of a name.

The lower lids of my eyes squint a tiny bit.

...Developments, perhaps?

What secrets does this 'Takameshi' hold...

"Eh, happens to the best of us."

I lightly close my eyes and lower my head a little. Trademark smirk lightly upon my lips.

"I can't argue with you there." Mizo replied before taking another sip of his tea.

"Memory problems, 'eh?" Hawke says with a smirk. "That must suck."

I have all of the self discipline and control in the world.

...I just choose not to use it and crack up a tiny bit after Tiberius suggests it would suck to have memory problems and a long pause.
