(open) Dorm-warming Party

Yuuji get another right after Cook. He notices the silence after all of the stories have been heard and tries to lighten up the mood
"What good is food without a few games? Hawke if you will do the honors..."

(Chirstopher picks his head up almost spontaneously.) Games? {I did pick up on many a game in the states.} I have an idea for a game, so long as you guys know your pop culture references.

I drag myself up from the mire of my memories when I learn that my new friend is also a musician
"You play? That's great! for obvious reasons I do too... Bass guitar and the melodica mostly, but I'm quite handy with most things... my mother pushed me to be like my father, so it was what I filled my spare time with. Tell me, are you in a band? Are there any other musicians around here? I'm dying for a jam."
I study the boy further, his head appears to droop slightly to the side, probably a symptom of the narcolepsy. My eyes travel across the room and rest upon Cook. As I look him up and down more as he sits there eating pizza, I notice a few defining features about him: The scare on his face for one. Was he in an accident too? As I continue to study him further he repositions himself, and I notice a familiar stiffness in his leg. Ah. I seem to be good at finding others with leg problems. I chuckle to myself as I remember a scene from a Shakesperian play where a jester of some kind finds his friends and references a famous painting entitled "We three", and make a loose connection between that, Yuuji, Nine and I.
I heed Yuuji's advice and and ask what kind of game, Cook's idea or the Xbox? I mention that I like the idea of a pop-culture game, and ask if we can do one set around the late 2000's.

I see you've already figured out that I have a bit of a stiff leg. (Christopher lifts his right pant leg to reveal a steel prosthesis.) On a rock climbing trip in Colorado, this defective leg of mine got trapped under a boulder. The rest speaks for itself. As for the scar, I'd rather not say. Sorry, friends. Anyway, the game I was mentioning will require all four of us to shout out our favorite movie lines. The one with either the funniest line or the most unheard of line wins. Sound simple enough? This is the type of game that will surely upset the neighbors.

Grinning devilishly, I say "I like the sound of this. Yuuji, Satoshi, what say you?"

With the look of determination he answers "I'm up for it."

My heavy thought causes me to look practically brain dead.

Wow, I've never met anyone so interested in actually musically having fun! Everyone in the music club never really liked learning songs on anything!

...Shit-I haven't said anything for a while.

Like a snap, my head picks back up.

"I-I-I don't play in any band. There are more people around campus who play instruments but not many. I also believe I'm the only active percussionist who plays more than a mallet instrument. The reason I got into music is my mother's entire family is into it."

"I make small amounts of original music and record covers of songs. Mostly older but some modern."

As for the game...

"Yeah, that game sounds really fun. I already got some fun things to say, heh heh."

I really hope internet videos count but I could manage well without them.

"I'll have to pick you up on that. I have some basic recording software on my laptop, but it's down at my grandparent's. Would you be interested in rounding up a few people and maybe forming a band?"

Cracking my knuckles I begin a slow countdown to begin the game.

"BUT WHY IS THE RUM GONE?!"

"Leeeeeeeeeroy Jenkins!"

"Perhaps. I have good recording software. Helps having a computer-wiz brother able to pirate it!"

My trademark grin shows big.

3...2...1...

"PROTECT ME, CONE!"

My voice forced to crack a couple times to imitate that line famous from Red vs Blue.

(Christopher belts out his movie line.) "What a dumbass! The beach is right there!"

Yuuji looks at everyone "so umm... now what?"

"Tonight, we dine... In Hell!" Does that answer your question, Yuuji?

" But i would rather dine in the shade..."

In a higher pitched voice.

"I'm gonna eat your heart!"

With a puzzled look on his face, Hawke turns to Cook, "So, who won? I thought we had to guess where the lines were from... This is very confusing Nine!" and falls back laughing.
Thinking for a few seconds, he draws a rough sketch of some hair and asks "Have you seen a girl with hair like this?"

"Yeah. Only every girl in the school."

I give Hawk a chuckle.

*English* "Your drawing needs more variation, my friend."

With a laugh, Hawke informs Satoshi that it was another movie quote.
"It's from an old one, it's called Scott Pilgrim Vs. the World... Saying that I might have it here somewhere..."
Rummaging around in his various bags Hawke eventually finds it, "I love this film. We can watch it if you want?"
Thinking back on what Sathoshi said abut the girls at this school, he realised he'd foun the perfect lead-in, "So... you say all the girls have this kind of hair? I'm disinclined to believe you; I've never seen a girl here! Where do they all hide?"

Fuck-now I remember.

I face palm.

*muffled* "Never mind, I know that one."

"By the way..."

I point at the picture.

"Did he LOOK like a BITCH?"

"...and no, idk where all the girls are. Heh heh."

"Shame... any of you guys have girlfriends here?"
I'm thoroughly confused by Satoshi's bitch comment, so I decided to skirt around it.

{Alright, time to show off my appreciation for old Disney films.} I yell in a high-pitched voice reminiscent of a child's. "Mike Wazowski!"

Yuuji turns to Cook "I believe that that is from Disney move Cook... I'm not sure." He hears Hawke comment about girlfriends and shakes his head a little disappointed "Nope..."

"Same here... And Nine, Monsters Inc. is fantastic. My family have a pretty worrying obsession with Disney. Heh. Do you guys wana keep playing? We could play on the xbox.." Looking around the room in search of his controllers, he finds his bag of fun.. "Say, what do you guys say to a little bit of..." and pulls out a bottle of expensive-looking whiskey "This? The drinking age is 16 or something isn't it? It IS a friday night after all!"

"whoa! put the bottle away. Don't you think that's a little much...?"

Whoops. I've come across a littl strong. Yet again. People here don't seem to be as adventurous as in England."Sorry man, kind of.. heat of the moment... thing. Just thought it would be a bit of fun..."
Floundering, Hawke looks for a quick change of subject "So, er, I have no idea what lessons are like and stuff in Japan, do I get to choose from a group or what? My enment was pretty rushed so I couldstart ASAP, and I don't recall lessons ever being mentioned."
