Chika awoke to a bright white room. There was the beep of a heart monitor and the sound of slow breathing coming from the boy sitting in a chair adjacent to her bed. Her brother, Nicholas.

She tried to raise up but was too weak to do so. Unable to lift herself up, Chika falls back and stares up, listening to the clock tick.

"Damn..."
